General Question

I need a band/music to use in a piece of fiction.

Asked by 6rant6 (13710points) February 6th, 2011

I am writing a piece of fiction and had used an ABBA cover band it it – this bit is on a cruise line and 20 somethings and 30 somethings are dancing to the music.

Someone said that this age group would certainly not dance to ABBA – even on a cruise. Is that so? I don’t want the band to be current, but I can see ABBA might be stretching things.

If it is, I am a bit “at sea”. Anybody have any real information? What should my cover band be playing?

I think that with the popularity of the stage show and movie Mamma Mia, 20— and 30-somethings would at the very least be familiar with some ABBA songs. I think it’s fine as it is.

@Seelix Excellent point!
especially since it validates what I’ve already done.

I’m 30 and we used to dance to it in college. I would so dance to “Dancing Queen.”

Thanks! The ABBAs have it!
