Would a special emoticon be handy for Fluther?

I know there won’t be any changes made, but on the off chance that someone has a weekend free and isn’t taking my suggestion for “icons” that are purchased with Lurve points seriously, I’d like to suggest a “scream” emoticon.
In particular, it would be used if you come across a question or answer that is so ridiculous that it makes your brain freeze. When the only thing that comes to mind is the poor soul in Edvard Munch’s, The Scream.
Anybody behind me on this?
I’m not sure where this has the best chance of not being moderated into oblivion, so I’m putting it in Social rather than Meta.

It’s a cute idea but I love the fact that Fluther is an emoticon-free zone on the Net.
This would be quite useful in emoticon form, if possible.
Okay, maybe two emoticons.
@coffeenut Back in my day, we used to do that with dirty pictures and hang them in our school lockers. Using actual dot matrix printers.
We should have a Fluther emoticon that’s a mini Dr jelly. In fact, I think I’ll work on making one right now.
Does anyone know how to make an emoticon that you can use on chat? no luck finding how.
I’m solidly with @janbb on this: I don’t want to see any emoticons on fluther.
But I did find a pic of Cate screaming in case I absolutely have to make a statement with my avatar someday.
When shall we three meet again?
Fun to think about, in theory, but I’m with the emoticon free crowd. Yes, I know I use smileys sometimes, and I don’t really mind those occasionally, but I’d hate to see full blown emoticons here.
And I want in on that meeting.
Everyone who thinks I’m serious, or even wants emoticons (more than two, anyway) please raise your hands.
Weren’t you serious? It’s the kind of thing that people do suggest seriously. You didn’t give any indications to the contrary. Even if you were joking, you might well garner serious support despite the hopes of some of us.

Well, you all need to reign it in a bit. We’re not talking a whole host of emoticons. We’re not talking about smiley faces and crying yellow balls. Call it a stamp, or a “last gasp graphic.” The last thing I want is a discussion on adding a fleet of cutesy smiles and frowns.
What, no little uzi’s and firebombs? :-(
I’m even against lols and lulz and ROFLMAO. No emoticons for me, please.
@mrentropy I guess you’re wanting a pictorial representation of that feeling right about now?
@janbb It would have made for an awesome demonstration.
I don’t like ‘lol’ or ‘roflmao’ but I can deal with them except when they’re used after every sentence (or every word) and when they really don’t make sense to use them.
“I jumped off my tractor and my leg got sheared off at the knee! lol!”
@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard Wouldn’t ::facepalm:: work for that? Come to think of it, wouldn’t ::headdesk:: be fairly close to The Scream?
D: D8 D; D= DX v.v are all “horror, disgust, sadness, great dismay”
I am actually becoming pro-emoticon. Usually, I find them annoying, but I’ve come to the conclusion that as much as Fluther generally has the attitude that you should use your words to express your mood, we won’t – the live discussion is too much a part for all of us to take the time, not to mention that most of us don’t want to write an essay to convey how we feel about something relatively trivial. I think we’d have less arguments and less drama if we knew right off the bat that someone was saying something teasingly or tongue-in-cheek or deadly seriously or was totally confused (instead of perhaps making a social commentary).
@papayalily the problem I have is that I don’t get some of the symbols that you used up there ^.
Perhaps I’m not looking at them the right way?
@wilma Which ones? D: D8 D; D= DX v.v ?
I would actually write them as :D 8D ;D =D and the last I don’t care for. I know people vary on if the eyes go on the left or the right. I’m honestly not sure how many of them aren’t “really big grin” but instead “disgust”, but I don’t really come up with emoticons.
Yes @papayalily all of those I am unsure about what they stand for.
@wilma They stand for “horror, disgust, sadness, great dismay”. I just got them from Wikipedia.
@mrentropy, I don’t see why you think that if we added just the one you want, that would be the end of it.
Despite my general disdain for emoticons, I do like this one:
___ /\___ \o/ __ “Help! Shark!”
ಠ_ಠ I’m a fan of the look of disapproval.
Find me one that comments on yet another misspelling of “definitely.”
@WasCy If you add a helicopter to that you’d have the arcade game, “Rescue.”
@gailcalled I would definitly use the Munch Scream on something like that.
@mrentropy: Munch’s Scream seems like overkill. I need something more subtle, like this.
@WasCy:I had to stare for several minutes before I saw it. Funny.
@augustlan : On windows the eyes are ALT+3232 on the keypad, then an underscore for the mouth. But it’s really finecky as it doesn’t seem to work all the time since it’s not a roman character (I tried to type it out on here and got á), so I just google for it and copy and paste. ಠ_ಠ
@Coloma….. what the hell happened to your duck?????????????????
Milo here: Who you callin’ a duck? Marwyn is a magnificent goose.
Goose smoosh. OK! What happened to the goose? There’s a mountain lion where the goose should be!!!!
@Dutchess_III: I hope that the mountain lion does not have that cat-who-swallowed-the-canary expression on its face.
. . . talk about thread drift . . .
We had really, really high snowdrifts…..
