I just drove through Santa Barbara yesterday and it’s definitely way, way up there…..
There’s nothing like Tofino, B.C. when there’s a storm. I could sit there (under cover) for hours just watching the waves crash against the shore.
probably cinque terre (5 cities) in italy. its a mountain with 5 small villages spaced very close to each other. if i could send photos on fluther, i would.
also, in the desert in israel i was doing a 5 day hike. i was sleeping outside and i woke up and it was cpmpletely silent and there were so many stars in the sky. ill never forget that moment.
I don’t know if this is cheating but I’m going to list three.
[in terms of nature]- the Jungfrau region in the Swiss alps
[best all-around city, including the inhabitants]- San Sebastion, Spain.
Marrakesh, Morocco was stunning. All the interesting smells and uneven architecture were sensory overload.
Can’t choose just one place, but several in Israel. As Mtl_zack mentioned, the desert is incredible (especially at sunrise), but looking out over the Old City in Jerusalem in all its glory is a breathtaking, look-out-and-gasp-for-air kind of moment.
where my gramma lived in Russia.
Great Barrier Reef, Australia
Blue Mountains, Australia
Yosemite, CA
Napa/Sonoma Valley, CA
Loire Valley, France
Derbyshire, England
The island of Corsica is amazing.
Fiji Italy key west lived in all three
Hawaii. We loved Maui and Lanai and North Shore in Oahu. We love their sunsets there. (we do want to try the other islands one day)
San Diego area
Big Sur, California
Bahamas
I’ve seen pictures of Greece and Italy. That is my dream trip we will go one day along with a stop in Turkey, where my hubby wants to show me. He said it is gorgeous there.
I would probaly the Capitol building of RI in providence
There’s a spot in the Southern Alps, in the South Island of NZ called Welcome Flat. It’s a 17km hike up a river valley and into the mountains where there are natural hot springs and thermal pools waiting for you, nestled amongst snow covered peaks. Bliss.
santorini, greece and the view from the top of mt. diablo are both pretty awesome.
Northern California Redwoods
I have been to many of the above places but my favorite has been sitting on the edge of Jenny Lake in Jackson Hole, WY with my wife and daughter looking at Gods gift to us….A close second and third would be at the bottom of the Grand Canyon looking up after the hike down or the Napali Coast of Kauai, HI from a yacht looking inland. Man God gave us a beatiful place to live….sometimes though I see the most beatiful view looking in my home through my front doors window at my babies and wife….I guess it don’t get much better than that.
so far in my life the Scottish highlands were among the most beautiful terrain ive ever laid eyes on. I have never seen anything like it!
The sunrise is the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited/seen. And I get to see it everyday.
Napali Coast, Kawaii
Paris, France
Rodez, France
Barcelona, Spain
Costa Rica
I’ve always been fascinated with Niagara Falls.
Fiji! Hands down!!
I’ve traveled to over 20 countries, 5 continents and most of the places listed above.
I would move to Fiji any day… And Tahiti, Moorea, Tonga. I haven’t been to the Cook islands, but friends who have traveled there say it will drop you to your knees, it is SO beautiful. The water is supposedly surreal….
Good surf too, I would imagine.
