There is a type of pendulum wall clock called a Buchanan Regulator.
It is now made by Westclox but may be based on something earlier.

This antique Sessions Regulator is similar in style

They may be based on a style of clock in public schoolrooms at turn of 20th century.
School House Clocks normally did not have a second key wind for chimes, so that the classes would not be interrupted by any unnecessary noises.

The Buchanan regulator made by Westclox is a cheap battery-powered imitation of an older clock, most likely the schoolhouse clock, possibly first appearing around Buchanan’s presidency

from wikipedia:
During the Industrial Revolution, daily life was organized around the home pendulum clock. More accurate pendulum clocks, called regulators, were installed in places of business and used to schedule work and set other clocks.
