Does anyone know why the Dome of the Rock is significant in the future according to scripture?

I wondered about this with the latest account of a UFO sighting over the Dome of the Rock. Did you notice that the videos have now been taken off the internet? If you know about the Dome of the Rock please give your answer but no fighting about it please.

it’s the site of the Temple in Jerusalem that was destroyed by the Romans. There are Hebrew prophecies regarding the Messiah upon the rebuilding of the Temple. That’s all I know.
@zenvelo Great answer and is one of the points. :)
Great question. If you go there and look at it objectively, it is a dirty, dusty piece of land and rock and it seems unbelievable that three of the world’s great religions all view it as the most important half acre on this massive planet. It just goes to show you what religion can do to critical thinking, I guess.
It is/was the site of the Temple of Jerusalem. That makes it important to the Jewish people, and through that, important to the western world through alliances and friendships. It is also the Dome of the Rock to the Islamic people, which makes it important to those wacky Islamic people. If the temple is to be rebuilt, the Al-Aqsa (sp?) Mosque will have to be removed. It doesn’t require a big leap to imagine the mayhem the crazy fringes of the Islamic peoples will unleash if that were to happen. All over a patch of dirty, rocky land smaller than my back yard!
From a world view, if anything changes at that spot, given everybody in the region has their sweaty fingers on the trigger, things will get ugly very quickly. That will draw the rest of the world into the fray through alliances and friendships, causing global mayhem.
Great Answer @majorrich and one that is pointing to what the scriptures have for a long time. Watch as things unfold from this location.
@majorrich The Christian faiths not only hold that half acre dear due to treaties and alliances, but because Revelations says that the Messiah will return after the Temple of Solomon is rebuilt. That also coincides with the rise of the Antichrist bringing the great tribulation, Armageddon and the end of the world. So here’s a thought. Let’s NOT rebuild it.
@ETpro The Dome of the Rock will be cleared by natural causes which will pave the way for the New Temple to be built.
@ETpro Yes we will and thanks for not coming at me with things.
