What is going on with the power struggle at Liverpool FC ?

If you follow American baseball at all, you should know that the Texas Rangers have never won a pennant, let alone a championship. The owner of the Rangers, Tom Hicks is now the owner of Liverpool’s soccer team (the most successful English soccer club of all time) and all of a sudden, they suck. People are just connecting the dots.
