What do you do when you're having "one of those days"?
Nothing seems to be going right today. I slept horribly. I feel awful. One thing after another is just not going according to plan.
What do you do on those days?

I log onto WoW and kill bad guys for a while to vent some frustration, then I usually turn on good music and sing my holy guts out. If my hubby gets home at a decent time or my mom is available for babysitting, I go shopping for a new purse or pair of shoes or something else totally frivolous.
Get out of the house sometimes and go to bed with laptop and tv others. This is a bed day. Sometimes just talking with other people snaps me out of a downer.
I go back to bed and put the covers over my head .
Ride it out. At the end of a famous book, the main character stated “Tomorrow is another day.” Not a bad motto to live by.
Sometimes I chop wood, hitting things really hard with an ax is excellent therapy. Mostly I try to avoid contact with other people, and sometimes I kick stuff and hurt myself, which is just silly.
Then I stop trying to do anything productive, cuz I’ll screw it up.
I hope things go better for you soon, @hawaii_jake , I hate that you’re having a bad day…
First scream my lungs out into a pillow, have a punch at my punching bag or you could try a walk listening to music and just find somewhere to sit like a park or bench ect , have a sing to yourself and look into the sky and relax, I like to lie on the grass somewhere that no one is about and feel the grass on look at the sky and just smell the air, sounds stupid but it feels good and relaxing , hope this helps and hopefuly tomorrow is a better day
I beat the crap out of a punching bag then I have a glass of wine. That combo seems to make me feel better.
I hope you feel better soon. Those kinds of days really suck. I’ve had one too many of them myself.
Take a bath with good-smelling soaps.
Strip naked & go play a spot of croquet in the garden. Watch those balls old chap. Very theraputic, care for tea & crumpets? :¬)
Play a game with a kid. Ball, board game or teach the kid something new. Kids are an amazing tonic for all things unfun in life and what could be more fun than being a kid for a few hours!
I usually go outside and admire my herb garden, the smells (aroma for a nicer word), feel, looks, it’s relaxing. Listening to music almost always changes my mood too.
Deal with it. Then at the end of the day climb a large snow-capped mountain and yell “SUCK IT FATE! I WIN!” as the sun sets. Note that there’s a slight chance that fate will take vengeance upon you and smite you with lightning.
Since I know you like poetry, here’s a great one on this very topic that I stumbled across today:
Dust of Snow
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
- Robert Frost
I look for something to laugh at. A funny movie or video. Anything that can potentially turn my view of my day around to humorous.
Good luck! Feel better.

I’ll play WoW like @WillWorkForChocolate does, killing bad guys (i.e. Alliance) until I feel better.
Or I put on Finding Nemo. My ultimate feel-good movie.
Or I have something delicious and unhealthy for dinner.
Or all three.
@Seelix High Five! We could technically kill each other, since you’re a hordie and I’m an ally… teehee
I either read, or watch a movie. I found a lotta comfort in movies, try to watch something new and it’ll usually get your mind off things.
@Seelix I suck at PvP too. We’re probably pretty evenly matched, LOL.
I usually do a simple task like dishes or laundry and I feel like I accomplished something otherwise my mood just deteriorates throughout the day.
Live through it. The sun will come out tomorrow, so the song goes.
Call my husband. He’s my rock and also my silly sense of humor. He’ll put it into perspective right away. Bubble wrap is next, then my son. My daughter is 17, she edges on moody. Not the go to person, right now.
Thanks, everybody. I made it through the day.
@cak : Um, bubble wrap and then your son? What do you do? Squeeze him until he pops? :)
Glad you come through it, just time?
@faye : I took a good long nap and woke up and had a strong cup of tea, and then I went I did something I loved: I rehearsed a play I’m in. That got me out of my head. The rehearsal went well, so that helped, too.
@hawaii_jake: sometimes I feel like I want to do that, when he’s on his zillionth question for the day. Nah, I can usually get to the bubble wrap before the boy. :)
