Kurt Wallander (in the guise of Krister Henriksson), Detective Chief Inspector Morse (the incredible John Thaw, now sadly gathered), or even his faithful sidekick who now has his own series, Lewis
Sherlock Holmes.
I’d say Columbo if a murder was involved AND I believed the murderer was rich, arrogant and inclined to cover his or her tracks by doing sometime stupid at the last minute.
Monk or Long? You ladies are starting early today. I’d pick Young, Angus or Malcolm.
The Simon brothers and detective Ironside.
oooh, Ironside. I loooove Ironside! (Raymond Burr looked like my Dad).
Sherlock Holmes
“It’s elementary my dear Watson”
I would say Dr. Gregory House. Since he wasn’t on the list, I will say his previous incarnation Sherlock Holmes.
Holmes. Definitely Holmes. ♥
I’d be willing to give it a shot.
You forgot the Hardy Boys!
If I was a medical mystery, House for sure.
Or Monk for a murder or something.
Inspector Clouseau. (Peter Sellars, not that Steve Martin tripe.) He’s an officer of the lurrr you know :¬)
@JilltheTooth: I’m disappointed in you!
Castle and Becket for sure!
Although, I did just watch The Great Mouse Detective. I think Basil would be pretty awesome.
I have been trying to remember the name since I first responded this morning and I finally got it! I would want Ross Tanner (as played by Clive Owen in the BBC show Second Sight.
@KatawaGrey : I’d want Monk to solve the mystery, I’d want Castle and Beckett to hang out with later and discuss it.
Oh yes, the Simon brothers, and could Rick please stay over?
I’m going with a write-in and going with Isabelle (Izzy) Spellman.
I was being (or trying to be) humerous with my previous answer.
If I had my druthers, I’d put Robert B. Parker’s Spenser on the case.
