Anyone had experience w. Lyme disease?

Yesterday, by a stroke of luck, I found an engorged, female adult Lyme tick hanging off a hard-to-see part of upper arm. I tried to remove it w. tweezers and left limbs in. Doc got most of the rest out. Waiting period is 4-6 weeks and pamphlet looks dire. I have to compress spot to remove remains of tick. Any tips?
