Pregnancy Symptoms, Irregular Period, NuvaRing?
I have been on the NuvaRing for almost a year now. My period is very regular, almost to the hour. My schedule is the first 3 weeks of the month in, the last week out and my in/out day is Thursday. When I remove my ring I start on Saturday in the morning. Last month I started on Sunday and instead of my heavier 4 day period, I had a lighter 2 day period. When I replaced my ring on Thursday, husband and I had unprotected sex (meaning no condom) that evening. On Saturday of that same week I spotted for 3 days (this NEVER happened before, as I said the NuvaRing had kept me VERY regular.) This would have been ½2 I started spotting and the 24th I stopped. Now I have every pregnancy symptom there is (this would be my second pregnancy, and I have the EXACT same symptoms as last time) but when I took at home tests, one tested positive and two were negative. I should remove my ring on Thursday, but I end up taking it out yesterday in fear of side effects to the baby if I am pregnant. I don’t know what to do or where to turn next… help!

Call your doctor. Since you said you had a positive pregnancy test, you really need to call your doctor and see what they say. They may want you to come in for blood work to be sure since you also had 2 negative tests.
Well since I just took out my ring, should I give it a couple days and see if I start my period? I have heard that some women have had pregnancy symptoms due to the ring, is it possible that’s is what I’m experiencing? I don’t understand why it would all of a sudden start after a year though…
You can still have a period while pregnant though, so a period alone doesn’t really mean you aren’t pregnant. The positive pregnancy test is definitely something worth looking into more. A blood test from your doctor’s office would let you know for sure if you are or aren’t pregnant. If you want to wait and see you can, but even if you aren’t pregnant, you need to discuss what happened with your doctor, so they are aware of it.
@Seaofclouds is right. You have to let your doctor know, and ask for a blood test.
Just go to the doctor. False positives are WAY less common than false negatives on home pregnancy tests. If you ever get a positive, just go to the doctor and have a blood test done. Set up an appointment and if your period (your regular period) comes between now and then, you can consider canceling.
You could be pregnant but not have a positive result on an OTC test because it’s too early. If you don’t want to go to your doctor (because it’s too expensive or somethiing) you could still go to a clinic and get some advice and a blood test.
