What color should I paint my front door?

The outside brick is an orange color. For purpose of Feng Shui, my front door faces west, a single door to the garage faces east in the back yard, and another single door faces north from my den into the back yard.

If you have evergreens in your neighborhood or yard, how about a deep, forest green…almost but not quite black?
Eggplant (or, if you like the French, aubergine) A very dark bluish purple.
my front door is red, red might play nicely off the orange

Blue is opposite orange on the color wheel making it complementary.
@Kazz Is there anyway we could see a photo of the house?
Another darker of lighter hue of orange?
Our house is the same color brick and our door is a dark green. It disappoints me that red would not look good – maybe and orangy red, but I’m not 100% sold on it.
The right shade of brown could also look nice.
I second the dark eggplant purple color.
My front doors have always been white……… :-/
Feng Shui is a scam. If you hire 10 “experts”, they’ll tell you 10 different things. Just go with an aesthetic that makes you happiest. If you’re unsure, there is a color visualizer tool available from Sherwin Williams that allows you to upload a picture of your house and then change the color of your door online for free to try out many different colors.
You can’t go wrong with a cream color. Its on my house with the same color combination you have and it is beautiful. Our storm doors and windows also have the same cream color.
I would say a dark red but not to dark or it will ot go well.
An Olive green sounds good with those colors but red doors are always fun
I’m gonna have a red door at my future house. The rest of the house will just have to co-operate with that red door. As for your door I’m thinking a nice light shade of blue, like the sky.
A nice dark brown color. I think I read somewhere upward purple. . . just MHO, only one type of person would paint purple on the exterior of their house (in my area), and I can speak for a few when I would say it’s not appreciated by the neighbors.
I’d go blue, personally. But I like front doors that stand out, see.
How about a warm shade of grey? With a silver colored knocker. It would be good background for any colored holiday decoration too.
I really like a black door on a brick house. But if your brick is very orange, it might scream ‘Halloween’.
I’d paint it a navy blue.
This is gonna sounds nuts but I’ve always wanted someone to do this. You’re going to hire an artist and they’re going to paint your front door to look like the hallway inside. How cool would that be eh.
Then bring all your mates from the pub back after a night’s drinking and watch the hilarity ensue. :-)
@osullivanbr You can just take a really high resolution picture and blow it up to life size and paste it on the door.
@klutzaroo that there is a much better idea. Love it.
Here is a picture of some doors that show the dark eggplant purple next to the brick orangey red color, also there’s one with a great moss green color.
I really like the idea of a slightly darker eggplant purple (gloss) like this to go with the brick color.
I would paint your door red
Red doors have always had a place in my heart. They are pretty iconic.
I’ve had chinese red doors, and it’s my favorite.
If you are asking a feng shui question….and it is not having to do with aesthetics, then I would go with red. A red door has been very auspicious in my life. It changed a lot of things (not overnight) but certainly in very positive ways in a short while.
I second @DarlingRhadamanthus . I too painted my front door “carriage red” and it was a changer for me.
