Why do some jellies re-start their accounts?

Asked by submariner (4165points) February 17th, 2011

I notice that some jellies have re-started their accounts. In some cases their pictures are the same, and their new names are similar, so they seem to be maintaining the same online identities.

If you’re one of these jellies, why have you chosen to re-start your Fluther account?

I have’t done it….But One I spoke with a wile ago said it was because it’s a way to reset the Lurve score…

Nope. I see no reason to.

The lurve scoring is relatively meaningless to me, it’s just a fun past time to participate here.

If you’re asking about people who change their username (while keeping the same account), mostly those folks have a privacy concern (someone from their real life has (or could) discovered their old name). And then there are a couple of people who start all over with a brand new account periodically.

@coffeenut I’m beginning to think Fluther’s search engine is not very good. My search-fu is not great, but I did search for “closed Fluther account” before posting this question, and the link you posted did not come up. This is not the first time this sort of thing has happened to me.

@submariner

Ah, well, you should have seen the search engine when it was really awful. It’s miles better now than it was until sometime last year.
