I am really getting into steampunk anime, and Metropolis by Hayao Miyazaki looks killer! Is there any place I can watch it online? I haven’t been able to find anything in online searched or torrents. Where can I watch this movie?

Is this the movie you are speaking of?
Metropolis by Miyazaki? Unless it’s very very new I’m not sure that exists. The movie @ladymia69 linked to is an excellent movie, and got some steampunkishness, but it’s not Miyazaki
Wow, couldn’t find it anywhere. Not even on Pirate Bay.
@XOIIO It didn’t say the movie was by Miyazaki.
@ladymia69 I know, the list of movies never said that it was, but based on the plot it isn’t the right one. It’s the very last one on the best answer on the link I put up there.
@ladymia69 Do you mean a mayazaki version, or the one you linked? Because I jsut found your linked one after a cursory search.
However, on those lines, Steamboy is also an excellent one that was mentioned in that other link. And Miyazaki’s work in general is amazing. But i can’t think of much steampunk beyond Howl’s Moving Castle (and I have the full Studio Ghibli collection, so I don’t think i’m missing much)
Um, and yes it is? That trailer is for the movie @ladymia69 linked
OK, well it’s on Netflix to rent (it’s the same trailer as the one the girl linked to), but if you don’t have Netflix, you might be out of luck.
And again, that movie can be found in those less then legitimate means. I found a few hits rather quickly.
@BhacSsylan I am grabbing steamboy right now, and I loved howls moving castle. Maybe the plot was wrong, it looks different from the yahoo answers description.
Anyone know if replay media catcher works with netflix? XD
@BhacSsylan I’ll keep looking for those “less than legitamate” means.
Does anyone know a movie where this girl went under a bridge and ended up in a wierd world, and there was a big black ooze thing that gave out gold?
@ladymia69 damn, you need a credit card to use netflix. I think my mother has an account…
@XOIIO I don’t have a credit card, but I do have a debit card that has a credit option. That’s all I used to get an account.
Put the movie at the top of her queue, lol
@BhacSsylan Any chance you could link to one of those non-legitamate sources?
Metropolis is an 2001 film produced by Shinji Komori. Metropolis is not very steampunk, it’s more of a dystopic future where poor people live in the city down below, wealthy people live up above, and robots are a part of society.
The film with the girl and black gold giving ooze is on the tip of my tongue but I cannot remember the title. But the movie itself is playing in fast forward in my head. Hopefully I remember.
PM me OP, for Metropolis.
i wish somebody would say this was a ” GREAT ANSWER” havent got one all day:(
@XOIIO I won’t, because it’s against fluther policy. Sorry. However, I can tell you that the movie you’re thinking of is “Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi”, aka “Spirited Away”. My personal favorite from Miyazaki (and that’s saying quite a lot).
Oh, and I will say searching for “metropolis 2001” may help.
@BhacSsylan Great!
I found a place to download it, Here. You just right-click the download link and save target as… I’m downloading it now! yay!
MAn, that movie was awesome!
@XOIIO You should check out Spirited Away while you’re at it. It’s quite worth it (though not at all steampunk)
I have seen that movie, and it was very good too.
