Well once at a lake i have minnoes however you spell it do something simmilar, it was wierd.

I remeber an FML where someone did it in a spa, and all the fish dies in 3 minutes.

I think it sounds interesting if they actually do what is said. I tend toward natural remedies when possible so I am partially biased. When I lived in Iceland, it is said people would go to the natural hotsprings there for help with skin conditions.

I might try it, but just with my feet.

Well, since you asked, and with half-sincere apology in advance, it sounds… fishy to me.

If I found fish in my spa, I’d give ‘em the boot.

El_Cadejo's avatar

@WasCy why does it sound fishy? they eat dead skin so they pick your skin clean. Same thing as exfoliating.

I have a cleaner shrimp in my tank that will clean my hands anytime im in there.

I think it’s kind of creepy – I can’t imagine sitting with my feet in a tank of fish while they chew on my skin! I have to admit, though, that I’d try it if it weren’t too expensive.

I think it looks interesting. I’d try it!

@Seelix really, it just tickles.

In general, I oppose the exploitation of fish.

It actually feels good, at Spring time here and on very calm (non windy) and sunny days, I can head to the beach and there is hundreds of thousands silver sides that swim in the shallows and once you enter the water they swarm you and literally pick all the dead skin off of you body. It is the most relaxing thing to me, my 6 year old loves it too. So I would have no problems doing this, I just wouldn’t pay for it when I can get it for free.

All I can think of is poor fish! What a hell of a way to make a living.

El_Cadejo's avatar

@IchtheosaurusRex how is it exploitation of fish? Minus the fact that its humans, its the same as their normal diet in the wild.

wilma's avatar

@earthduzt are they saltwater or freshwater fish?
I wonder if I can go to the bait shop and get some of these and do a spa treatment at home?

El_Cadejo's avatar

Silversides are a saltwater fish that you can most definitely find in a bait shop.

one time when I was snorkeling by the great barrier reef these fish were doing that they wouldn’t leave you alone wierd

El_Cadejo's avatar

cleaner wrasse will pick dead skin off as well :) I used to have a bunch of them in a tank at work and theyd always try and clean me as I cleaned their tank :P

IchtheosaurusRex's avatar

@uberbatman , Didn’t you see Finding Nemo? Fish yearn to be FREE!

El_Cadejo's avatar

@IchtheosaurusRex do they? Do they even have the capacity to think at such a level? I would think as long as the fishes needs were being met it wouldnt really care one way or another.
