How does one cite an epub, MLA style?

Asked by MyNewtBoobs (19069points) February 21st, 2011

I’m writing a paper, and I bought the ebook instead of a physical book in epub format. I don’t know if this is normal for epubs (I usually use different formats) but it doesn’t have pages. At all. It has… well, right now I’m at 162.9 of 997 (the paperback has 264 pages).
I’m supposed to use parenthetical references.

How on Earth does one cite this thing? I can’t really get my hands on a physical format before it’s due.

This page from the Purdue University writing lab should have the information you need about electronic resources. There is an emerging discussion about e-books and scholarly citing issues have not been resolved. Your best bet is to cite the locations and then reference it as an e-book (e.g, Kindle edition) in your works cited page.
