I always find myself in ruts. Right now I am deep in a Parks and Recreation rut….I don’t want to do anything with my free time except watch that show. I laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh.
I am also in a homemade sauerkraut rut, an Abita Purple Haze rut, and a ham rut. Alright that’s sad, 3 out of my 4 ruts are food. But what can I say.
You?

I am working on paying off a rather large student loan (almost done!), so, I’m in a broke as a joke rut.
I am in a “work is everything” rut, and I’m boring myself silly.
I’m in a ‘spent all my money again and need to find a way to replenish it’ rut.
I’m in a ‘Young and the Restless’ rut. (Man! will I be glad when Winter is over):/
I’m also in a coffee and Kahlua rut. It’s helping me to cope with my other ruts;)
A relatively comfortable one right at the moment.
A food withdrawel rut. In our house we’ve a new rule that after 8pm is too late to eat which is so tough because we all get home after 9pm and want to EAT. I had a dream about lasagne a few nights back and it drove me nuts.
Wow, you have it pretty good if those are your only ruts. Mine are a bit more sad than those.
@ladymia69 Well I suppose I generally only think of ruts as being things I enjoy that I can’t stop doing. But if I thought about my negative ruts…..I’m in the rut of not working enough and being broke as hell, I am in life-long candy rut….hm there’s more….
I’m in a panic attack rut where I either can’t leave my house or I can’t return to it.
A some places in my house are “safer” than others rut
A plum wine rut that makes the other 2 mellow out.
I think I would enjoy a little rut. I am in Pittsburgh, have to go to Washington for (of all strange thing) a Lady Ga-Ga concert. Then to Los Angeles for the next 2 0r 3 weeks. I could use a rut.
I am in a packing rut. I have been packing boxes since December and started unpacking them last week at the new house!! I think I am allergic to cardboard now! XD
None! In fact I feel more free than I ever have! :))
I’m in a wish they would call me for an interview rut.
an oh shit how am I gonna pay the bills rut.
a does no good to worry rut.
a might as well get on fluther rut.
an Animal Planet rut.
@Ron_C say whats up to PITTSBURGH FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quarter-life crisis rut: I’ve been unemployed for two weeks now and everyone keeps telling me that my next move has to be really good. I need to find a job that allows me to go back to school but is still a step forward career-wise, and I don’t know if it’s possible to do both. I might need to move to make it happen. Also my last job gave me unlimited free coffee, bread, and salad and half price fancy cheese, dessert, and charcuterie. Now I’m eating, like, pop-tarts and TV dinners.
Wine rut: Pretty self- explanatory. I’m trying to teach myself more about wine as I drink it.
Classic rock rut: I sing along with stuff like “Radar Love” by Golden Earring and “Time” by Pink Floyd, not just when I’m alone in the car. I might also bust out the air guitar. Anywhere there’s piped-in music, watch out. My boyfriend hates going places with me now. :)
The Office rut: Currently wearing a shirt that says “Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.”
@Haleth I’m in a 2-year Office rut currently. Can’t get enough!!
Sleeping in! Nothing will drag me out of bed!
Working long hours rut, late for work every morning rut, and the avoid the grocery store rut. Also deep in “do the taxes” denial rut.
Work. I have gotten too comfortable in a low paying but convenient job where I don’t have to have too many skills/qualifications in order to get through the day. Now, the job itself (ie: my daily tasks) I enjoy which is probably why I have allowed myself to get too comfortable here but I am starting to realise that I need to better myself somehow and staying here for the long term will not benefit me.
@den WHAT’S UP IN PITTSBURGH is a foot of snow, closed roads and amazing auto and truck accidents that started 20 miles from Pittsburgh and road closings, even interstate 79. It took 4 hours to drive 20 miles including one mile towed by a tractor.
The same thing happened last Feb. I am never coming here in February.
@Ron_C This February and last February were the only 2 that I haven’t lived in Pittsburgh for…...in those 19 years that I did, we had ONE huge snowstorm. Then I leave and boom, consecutive years. I am very jealous. I really like snowpocalypses and being trapped at home. Not sure why but it really rubs me the right way.
