How can I get rid of my Herpes ?
I know there is no cure for it, but I want to know if there are natural ways to lessen the outbreaks or symptoms ?
They gave me some medication I have to take for 10 days, but I’m hearing natural stuff might work too ?
Does anyone know if VitaKlenz or Threelac works ?
Thanks.
I don’t have oral herpes, just vaginal.

Sorry, no way to get rid of it. The meds will counteract it but you have it forever.
I know I will have it forever, but I’m saying what other things can I do to help it ?
Well, make sure that you tell your partners that you have it, there are meds that you might be able to help, but aside from that there isn’t anything.
Natural things, other medications, things I can do to help my body ? Drinking more water, etc, ?
Oh ok. Yeah I have already told.
The Herpes website contains a lot of information on treatment. It mentions red marine algae and a bunch of other things that have been proven to help or that might help but are not proven. I’m sure you’ll get a ton of ideas there.
Read the articles on both the CDC and Mayo Clinic websites. I don’t think anything from the health food store would be particularly helpful from my limited knowledge.
Avoid alcohol, keep stress levels down, get enough sleep, have your iron and B12 checked if you are a girl, you can probably skip the iron check if you are a guy.
Oh, I remember a friend of mine took lysine to try to prevent outbreaks. I don’t know if it really helps or not.
Oh, haha. I guess I did not completely read through all of the details. Then definitely check the iron. Low iron makes the whole body weak.
I know someone who has herpes, and she takes Valtrex. She’s said that it has helped a lot with her outbreaks – as far as I know, she hasn’t had one for a couple of years. I’m not sure what meds you’re on, and I don’t know a whole lot about herpes personally, but I do know that that particular drug has helped her a lot.
I know someone who had a lot of luck with Acyclovir. It’s not natural, but it worked for him.
Since we are talking pharmaceutical meds Valtrex is easier to take than Acyclovir (Zovirax) because zovirax you have to take 5 times a day for HSV II if I remember correctly, and Valtrex is twice a day I think? The stuff I suggested above is to avoid future outbreaks.
@JLeslie – I’m 99% sure my friend told me that she takes Valtrex once a day (it might vary by case – I’m not sure about that).
@Seelix That might be a preventative dose? Does she take all of the time? Not justvduring outbreaks? A couple of times I took it for shingles, which is a different infection, different dose. I just vaguely remember dosages, because I looked up the recommendations a long while back when I took it. I’d have to look it up again. Still Valtrex is less ofen then Zovirax, more convenient.
@JLeslie – I’m pretty sure it’s once a day, all the time, to prevent outbreaks. She’s had the virus for more than 10 years, so it could be that she hasn’t had many outbreaks… I haven’t heard all the details, and I’m not sure if she takes a different dose if she does have an outbreak. But still, you’re right – less frequent dosages are more convenient regardless.
I get stressed out a lot actually, and have insomnia. I have to keep those down.
What is Valtrex ? Can I buy it anywhere ?
It’s a prescription drug – I’m not sure of the details, but the Wikipedia page might be a starting place for info.
