For which reason is The Oscars on a sunday?
I’ve been trying to figure it out, and I just can’t!
I just think a saturday would make more sense?
Someone enlighten me, please.

Probably because they know the audience base will be much greater, lots of people are out on Saturday nights.
Most people are home on a Sunday night in the dead of winter + attractive people in fancy clothes + cutthroat competition = Ratings!
It has been on a Monday before. It used to be at the end of March but conflicted with the NCAA Final Four.
It is because they know I am fishing and will not be forced to watch. I have yet to tell them I fish everyday so you do not have to do this just for me.
It used to be on Monday’s, as part of a deal with theater owners, because Monday is the day with the lowest theater attendence. They moved it to Sunday a few years ago to increase viewers, and brought it closer to the end of the year to make it more relevant. Saturday is still the biggest movie attendence night, and would cut into box office receipts.
