Why do people post video game replays on You Tube?

It bothers me when I go to You Tube to see if anyone has posted highlights of a sports event and I have to sift past all the virtual stuff.
Are people really interested in watching someone else play a video game? Fluther, can you explain this to me?

YouTube is good for posting video game walk-throughs also some people like to gloat over how well they are at a game, weird shit that happens wile playing and so on…...
Same for people singing/dancing/doing stupid things/ doing anything….
Also I love watching walk-throughs…..1-I don’t have to buy the game/system to see it, 2-Watching some people who are really good at games….
@coffeenut…oh, I see your point. I guess I am not a gamer.
I’m one of the toons running around in this old vid. I have a lot of fond memories of those people.
It’s also really helpful sometimes to watch walkthroughs of boss fights in World of Warcraft, especially with all the new content that’s out now. Watching another group of people succeed or fail really helps in strategizing how to approach a particular fight.
I used walkthroughs to convince me that it was possible to beat certain “badguys” in Zelda after dying coutless times. They gave me the strength to keep on fighting!
Personally, I use LoL replays to help understand the play style for different characters. With 70+ characters to choose from, I like to have some idea of what to do with someone I’ve never used before.
My 11 year old son loves the video replays. Me, I don’t understand why.
My husband likes them so that he can figure out what he’s doing wrong on a particular game. He’ll play, then hit a frustrating task. The videos can be a good guide.
People who enjoy video games like to get tips from video walkthroughs. Everybody should understand that.
You’re obviously not a gamer and wouldn’t understand lol.
I am not adept at some games, so when I see some expert get 47–0 on COD….I’m interested in what their tactics are and what they have to say about playing.
Without that kind of post, the world would never know of the greatness that is Leeroy Jenkins
…Thanks fellow jellies! I felt stupid enough after the First response…
I need to play more video games.
