wireless router, setup a passcode and your set to go. Linksys seems to be the easiest to work with based on my experience.

A pretty safe way to go is WPA2, and set your router to not broadcast the ssid (All configurable through the Airport Utility). That way the router is in ‘stealth’ mode, and no one can see it’s ID broadcast.

one big tip i can give you, as i know hollister has a mac, install istumbler and check around what channel the neighbours use, then try to keep at least 2 channels between you and the strongest networks around you, that way you can steer clear of interference

This is obvious stuff, but place the router in a central location and don’t surround it with other equipment or wire shelving. Don’t put it on a metal shelf or desk – they could cast a “shadow”. I had a deadspot in my place, discovered it was caused by a metal filing cabinet in a nearby closet. And by all means put it on a good voltage-regulating power strip – most routers are touchy about spikes.

yea I bought a dock staton for my air port express and pluged in a power strip

Plug it, config it as the manual says, connect it. Done.
