Staged or Accidental? Your votes please?

Asked by WillWorkForChocolate (23163points) February 28th, 2011

Melissa Leo dropped the f-bomb during her Oscar acceptance speech. By watching the manner in which it was done, don’t you sort of suspect she planned to do it?

Seemed staged, but I’m surprised the f bomb hasn’t been dropped sooner.

@podwarp I think it has, but that’s why they have the show on a few second delay, so they can immediately “BLEEP” those things out. It was edited on TV, but the youtubers posted the unedited version.

I suspect all actors of “staging” things live on tv…especially those with managers/publicists that have informed them they have a shot of winning the big one.

Lol…. who cares hmm…I mean, I don’t know…. But if I ever won a Oscar…watching at home you would only hear “YAY BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP thank you….”

I thought she was genuinely shaken up. Her hands were shaking. I thought it was accidental.

I thought it was accidental. I watched that part of the show live and it wasn’t edited for me.

I thought she was just excited and meant it but then remembered where she was.

I was surprised she even won – not that she did not deserve to (I did not see the Fighter but now I want to, but anyway I cannot judge) but I saw some guy on the Red Carpet saying that she took out ads promoting herself, and she was a “shoe in” but now that she took out the ads, which would not go over well with The Academy, she opened the door to other actresses who might be in better favor with the Academy judges.

She’s got a potty-mouth, and it came out naturally. I don’t doubt she didn’t mean to say it.
