Does it matter? Would the freak accident thing change your grieving in any way?

i guess i would be sadder if the driver was drunk, because then the driver would feel even worse as well…

I think the anger and sense of loss would hit home sooner if killed by car – the meteor situation would take a while to digest and get over the shock and disbelief….

At the end of the day, the loss would be the same, it’s just a matter of how it hits home…

I would be sadder… actually I would be madder if a loved one were killed by a car, because then there would be someone to blame. When there’s someone to blame, you feel like there was some way someone could have prevented it from happening. The opposite would be true if it were by a meteor; who could have stopped it?

Of course it would be tragic either way, but death by automobile seems so mundane compared to getting struck by a celestial body.

I might be more tempted to adopt an ‘it was meant to be’ attitude, in this case.

Idk if I’d believe a loved one was hit by a meteor at least not for a while. So at first I’d be more sad about the car crash

What difference does it make? Dead is dead. However, if killed by a meteorite, being so rare, you would be reminded of the death more frequently in news reports.

Both would be terrible. If I were to be the deceased, I’d rather go by meteorite. I’d like to think my friends and family could laugh about it after a little while.

Loseing a loved one is hard no matter which way you look at it. The reasons for the death become irrelevant, all that matters is the loss.

It would be tragic if a loved one were killed in a car crash. However I think if someone I love were killed by a meterorite I would laugh because of the randomness of it.

Both of those options are pretty random so I would probably be just as sad either way. I would be sadder if someone I loved died in a really violent or painful manner.

Scientists estimate the chance of being hit by a piece of space junk that has re-entered the Earth’s atmosphere is less than one in a trillion. :from http://griffinsgadgets.blogspot.com/2007/04/chance-of-being-hit-by-space-junk.html
