Scruffy or clean shaven?

Scruffy or clean shaven, beard or mustache which do you prefer? I have foregone the usual shaving ritual due to an insane work schedule and a week later I have that scruffy look. Those that like the scruff and beards how do you best deal with the “pins and needles” when up close and personal?

It depends upon the man and the face. It works for some and not so much for others. Also, younger men seem to do the scruffy look better. A great smile overshadows any scruffiness. That’s just me.
I almost always wear stubble. A sculptured look fashioned from an efficient set of clippers & a razor. Just enough to strike a match on ;¬}
I like my scruffy bearded look, it’s there to hide some scars I’d be conscious of if I were clean shaven, anyway I’m not really bothered by other peoples opinions on it, it’s me like it or lump it….. :-/
I prefer my SO to be clean shaven when out at the theatre or a restaurant.
Strangely, when on holiday I prefer my man to be casual and if he doesn’t shave for a few days, then that really doesn’t matter.
I don’t like beards – you never know what is lurking under there LOLL
@partyparty
A bit like captain caveman! Yeah I get that a lot!! :-/ Lol…….
I’m with @MissA
Depends on the man and the face and, sometimes age.
I havn’t been too fond of the goatee thing the last handful of years or so.
Works well on some, others just look like devils. lol
Seems like every older guy has a gray goatee.
For a lot of older men you look younger when clean shaven.
Old graybeard. haha
I have to go for the clean shaven. The gray shows up now. Plus there’s always the razor burn issue on the insides of the thighs.
Clean-shaven. Scruffy can look okay, but be hellish on my sensitive face when it’s time for kissing.
It depends, scruffy can be painful, but also charming. A full beard is usually softer and clean shaven is good too.
Do what you like, but take into consideration the opinion of the woman in your life.
I try to keep clean shaven. I’ve been told thigh burns are uncomfortable.
I am not a fan of fellows with facial hair. So, clean-shaven it is!
Fiddle, you can pull it off, though. :)
@Jude, do you mean my jeans?~
Thank you, m’dear :-)
When I’m not bearded I’m at least scruffy, but never clean-shaven. It’s just not who I am.
I’m VERY bearded at the moment. I find I love my beard a lot when it’s winter, it helps keep my face protected from windchill, and warmer in general. In the summer it’s an unnecessary blanket on my face, so I usually drop it. If I could, I’d probably keep it around.
I use a razor and shaving cream everyday. I do not like bristles, when I sleep. They drag on the pillow and keep me awake.
Everyone is different. Clean-shaven for me.
If I could have the scruffy look, I would try it out. Unfortunately I can barely grow a goatee. Right now I just have a little patch under my lips.
SCRUFFY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I beg and plead my boyfriend not to shave. Scruffy is so sexy. I don’t like smooth. :(
Shaving my face hurts my arm. So I just let the facial hair grow. Not to well, but still.
I like clean shaven or goatee – but not too rough. There’s this in-between stage that is perfect. It’s getting the hubby to the in-between stage that is difficult! If we’re somewhere formal, I do prefer clean shaven. If it’s something a bit more relaxed, or vacation…don’t shave.
@worriedguy hit it on the head. Thigh burns suck. Um wait, that didn’t come out right.
@chyna: you just made me snicker!
Clean shaven just about 99% of the time.

If you are who your name implies, you could wear an Easter bonnet and look great, with that chiseled jaw line and other fine features.
And, in the name of friendly curiosity…
If you are not, then what does “private facilities” entail?
