How do I undo erasing a message I was typing on Facebook?
I was on my Facebook replying a message today when I pressed some random button on the keyboard that caused me to click who knows what in the toolbar or something, making me go back to the previous page before I began my message. I had almost 3 long paragraphs written & I want to know if there is any way to retrieve what I wrote with some Firefox add-on/app, or something on Facebook? I do not want to re-write everything I wrote again. I would simply like to find a way to make it all be retrieved. If there is no way though, I will force myself to start over.

This may be one of the SOL times….
On my phone If I push the “back” button auto save…....On my PC a “draft saver” but other than that….Check in the “browser cache”....?
Try your browser’s back button.
Tried the back button..It just goes back to the email I was writing but the box is completely blank..
I have done this before and my info was sent out into lala land. Who knows what happened to it. Tell yourself to just start over and get on with it.
If the back button didn’t resurrect it then it has gone to Facebook heaven, or hell. Depends what you were typing.
this happens to me occasionally, not on facebook but other sites like forums that time you out after a certain time. sucks but it happens.when you know you are typing something long, you should keep a copy of notepad open and type everything in there then paste to wherever.
Eek yeah sucks when this happens. When I’m writing a long thing, I copy it every so often so I can paste if this happens.
Yeah sometimes if I know I am going to be writing a lot of important paragraphs in a message to someone then usually half way through I copy & paste & do that till it’s almost done. Was too in the zone writing to think of copy & pasting half way through…Ah well. I will just start over. lol. Thanks for all your advice everyone!
That just deletes what I write lol. Thanks though!
@leogirly4life Ctrl z is the sacred key binding for “undo”. If the last key press was “delete” then you should get back what you typed. If on the other hand if the last thing you typed was text then it will “undo” your typing and the text will disappear. To “redo” (ie undo the undo) you can press ctrl y.
I’ve just done this very thing and Control Z worked for me! So pleased, thanks for that advice.
