[Possibly NSFW] What kind of "trouble" have you gotten into on spring break?

Asked by wundayatta (58741points) March 7th, 2011

It seems to me that there are stories of all kinds of spring break wildness all over the place. Some of it is sexual, I guess.

I tended to get into trouble of a not so troubling kind. My favorite spring break was, believe it or not, the time I ruined my favorite shirt ever. It was green and had these brightly plumaged birds standing on each other’s heads between stripes. When I came home, it was soaked through and through with mud, and it never came clean again.

I had been on an outing club trip, and we went spelunking in caves in the West Virginia mountains. I had always wanted to go spelunking. I was cold and very wet and muddy underground, but also beautiful and wonderful and, as it turned out, very romantic.

I never did the whole ‘sping break, woo hoo’ kind of thing because I was (am) a huge nerd in college and spent my spring breaks studying.

I once had a cannonball fired into my midriff.

I’ve never ‘got’ the whole spring break thing. It’s a break from uni. Get over it.

I, too, never got into trouble. I studied, worked, and spent time with my girlfriend.
@wundayatta Your adventure is much more interesting than mine.

I was never the type to wait for spring break to partake in some possible troublesome activities. Nothing on the sex side, a lot on the drinking side. Didn’t save that for just one week out of the year, but spanned that over the 52 weeks. Too old for all that now.

I got arrested on the Beach at Fort Lauderdale for going to sleep and remaining there past dusk. My friends failed to wake me so I got rounded up with the vagrants. All my Id anand everyd money thing was in the hotel, but the police wouldn’t let me go in to get them.

I never did ‘Spring Break’, either, really. It’s one of those things that I felt like I should be doing and that I maybe possibly missed out on? But it also seemed like the people going on these Spring Breaks and getting crazy were completely different people from myself, so it was kind of hard to even imagine doing it. I admit that I had a small desire to do it at least once, mainly because it seemed what people were supposed to do and I couldn’t help feeling like maybe I was missing out, but never actually had an exciting/crazy/debaucherous Spring Break.

Now… truthfully, I’m pretty hedonistic and I don’t much contain this to prescribed vacations. :)

One year me and 12 friends (including my g/f of the time) got a big house on a very secluded beach in Florida. We had beach bon fires, lots of alcohol, a fair amount of pot, and my g/f and I… had a good time…. But nothing too ridiculous.

The following year me and about 10 friends (the same core group) went to Tybee Island Georgia… Alcohol and such were the same, but we made a very powerful potato cannon this time, and fired it into the Atlantic.

I’m not in school so I don’t have a “spring break” (it’s still winter here anyhow…>:| ) but since my boyfriend teaches, he has a week break the end of this month and we are doing a mini road trip to New Mexico and Arizona. I would rather see amazing little towns and beautiful nature than get drunk for a week straight.

I was rounded up, with other protesters and taken to the police station. We were protesting the unethical treatment of animals in a rodeo. When I got to the station they released me and a few others…with a stern lecture.

Another year, prior to college, I found that the people that I had a room with, at the beach, we a bit too much for me and had to get my stuff and leave without them being around. They all wound up getting into different kinds of trouble. Another group that I knew were staying nearby; however, since they were all under 21, the management had put their room right next to the office. For safety reasons, per their words…we all knew it was to keep an eye on the group. I wasn’t listed on the room and they didn’t want to add another, because of extra charges, I had to leave the room through a window, during the nighttime hours. This was while I was still in high school. I felt like I was the worst criminal in the world. We were this geeky group of people, we didn’t even drink during Spring Break. We were probably their safest group in the hotel. :)

I was in Chinatown (the one in San Fransisco), and I was fighting Lo-pan and the wing kong gang with a trucker named Jack Burton.

I couldn’t afford spring break get-a-ways. I stayed on campus and enjoyed the relatively laid back atmosphere. Plus I didn’t need to spend gobs of money somewhere else to get into trouble….back then I had no trouble finding trouble for free.

I didn’t go to college after high school, and I didn’t participate in spring break extravaganzas, but I have some crazy port stories from being in the navy.

When I was 13 I broke my leg on the first day of our spring vacation. Other than that, I guess I also fall in with all the nerds above me. I don’t really do that whole party scene thing.

You should swig beer and bump big-titted women all year. Spring break ain’t special!

Junior year I rode a train from Prague to Athens, stopping in Romania and Bulgaria. Got really drunk and bought dinner for just about the entire population under 25 in a particular village. Had my sunglasses stolen by a prostitute (at the dinner, we didn’t have sex). Then took a flight to Amsterdam for two nights of concerts by the String Cheese Incident.

Also, we went to a strip club in Sofia, Bulgaria that was populated by gangster types, but we got the hell out of there.
