Why do your hands hurt when they are cold ?

Why do your hands feel like they have been hit with a brick when there freezing?

To give you the idea you should warm them up before they are irreversibly damaged.

Its because when it is cold the muscles tence up. The part where they hurt is the blood not being able to move through the veigns because it is so tence and frozen. Its just like when you work out during the night after not doing it for ages, the muscles you used will be in alot of pain the next morning! I hope that was ok, its a pretty simple way of putting it.

it’s just that you’re not used to being in a cold place xD

Sorry but I don’t think that’s right.

Because nerves interpret drastic variation in temperature as pain (the sensation is actually not “cold” but “loss of heat”). They are not, however, very good at differentiating between hot and cold.
