How do you want to read a music blog?

Asked by OliverYoung (382points) March 9th, 2011

I was at an interview today. I’m applying to write for this “local” blog, which focus’ on a lot of the more underground things in my city.
So, I applied to write the music part, seeing as I love going to concerts, and I love to express my opinion. ANYWAY, I haven’t really written before, so .. how do you like to read blogs? I would have to mostly cover concerts and other music events.
Thanks! :)

I don’t really read blogs (save one). The one I read makes me feel like a part of her life.

I imagine if you include a lot of imagery and convey the atmosphere of the event well, people will rely on it when considering musical outings. I would always start with descriptives before going on to explain the actual event.

Perhaps you could read other musical blogs to help gain some ideas?

Im not much help as I dont read blogs much either, but I’d have to agree with what Tacturnu said. Id say after said events if you go to them itd be nice to be able to post pictures/videos of the event and reference some key songs from them and where to buy online and such. Thats what id want to see at least.

@Rarebear Nice answer, haha….....

@uberbatman Alright, thanks! :) I’ll keep that in mind!

@Taciturnu What you’re saying is pretty much what I had in mind, but really good to hear, that I’m close, to what people want. Also, I plan to read some blogposts tomorrow or late to day! thanks for the answer!

It’s nice to have some music to listen to, not just read about as well…
