His nickname was “Weed”.
He stood up for any kid that was being picked on at school and wasn’t afraid of anything or anybody. We could’ve used a few more like him :)
Me
I stand up for LGBT equality every chance I get.
My daughter is a pastor and has been very active in the struggle for equal rights for gay persons. She was doing ceremonies for them when no one else even would consider it in a large American city. She continues to fight for their equal treatment with regard to ordination into ministry in her denomination. I’m very proud of her.
My son has always stood up for what was the right thing to do even when it meant possibly getting his ass handed to him or displeasing someone who matters to him. He could never stand to see anyone picked on or bullied even if they kind of had it coming to them by being foolish.
I stood up to some members of my family who were taking advantage of my disabled sister’s money. I got control transferred out of their hands and they didn’t talk to me for three years.
I also stood toe to toe with the asshole principal of my son’s elementary school when he would yell at me as I tried to get him to do something about the bullying my son was enduring at school. I took that fight to the school board and then finally to my MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly). After being stone walled every where I pulled all my kids out of school.
My two kids were each arrested for picketing for our government to stop supporting South Africa until it got rid of apartheid policies. College kids have proved they can affect government decisions by raising the awareness of other citizens. I congratulate them!
I stood up for my right as a single woman to be treated for infertility.
My 17 year old son, who stood up to a bully at his school during a basketball game.
One of the students in our school was using the “N” word toward a kid on the opposing team.
My son told him to “shut the F up”.
After the game the bully followed my son and assaulted him, saying “You don’t talk to me that way”.
My son was knocked out, his head slammed into a locker and onto a cement floor. He had a severe concussion.
I am very worried about him.
The bully was only suspended from school for 20 days. He is now back at the same school with my son.
I am Proud of my son for standing up in support of the black kid on the opposing team.
I am angry with our school board for not standing up for my son..
Charges are pending….
