Any insight as to picnik.com?

Asked by zenvelo (39548points) March 10th, 2011

My daughter would like an account at picnik.com. Apparently it is a photo storage and editing site. I am trying to find out if it is reputable, or if there are better alternative sites.

Use google or gmail – may as well have them remember everything about you and flow with their picasa.

It’s just for photo editing, and it’s partnered with Flickr. Photos stored on Flickr can be brought into Picnik for editing. The editing capabilities are limited without paid access. For storage, go with Flickr or Picasa (the google one @seazen_ mentions).

If your daughter is young she may want an account for editing her facebook, twitter etc. photos to add graphics, themes, text, colors, the possibilities are endless. They have a good free account that allows you to use some neat editing tools but there are many more if you sign up for a paid account. I would suggest using just the free tools if it is mostly going to be used for editing.

Personally, I like Picnik. It’s easy to use, quick, and convenient. I think your daughter would enjoy using it. My children do.
