Why would I see it after what Roger Ebert said: “Young men: If you attend this crap with friends who admire it, tactfully inform them they are idiots. Young women: If your date likes this movie, tell him you’ve been thinking it over, and you think you should consider spending some time apart.”

I might put it on my lovefilm queue (note for Americans lovefilm is the euro version of netflix) but certainly not gonna waste a trip to the cinema to see it.

I have not. But my preferred movie reviewer (and comic author) Howard Tayler rather liked it. Which, in my case, means that I’ll get it from the redbox sometime in September.
I work at a cinema so I previewed the movie before it was released to the public. I have to say it was honestly one of the worst two hour movies I’ve seen in a long time. The acting was atrocious. There was really no plot, only explosions and guns with mediocre relevance. When characters died, there was way too much dramatic music as if the audience was supposed to cry and care immensley when there was never an opportunity for a connection to any of the characters in the film. The film also deals heavily with military personnel and even the largest details dealing with the military were butchered. Save your money on this one kids!
I haven’t seen it personally, but my brother liked it so that means it’s probably crap.
Hmmm its interesting. On rotten tomato which I generally trust a 100% it has a 33% which would agree with what has been said above about it being crap, but surprisingly the audience has a 71% . Ive never seen such a huge discrepancy
OK so….. bit embarrassed to admit this but… I went to see it. I know, I know… but hey the cute girl next door wanted to see it and well… There we are.
It’s crap and it’s boring. The reason why it’s boring is because it never stops with the action stuff. There’s no change of pace no nothing just non stop action. The characters are 1 dimensional, the dialogue is cliched to the point I wanted to kill myself rather than listen to any more, the special effects aren’t actually that special.
