If you could be either cute or dangerous (but not both), which would you choose?

Asked by wundayatta (58741points) March 15th, 2011

This question is for men, but obviously, that won’t stop women from answering.

Would you prefer to be bad-ass or nice and cute? Why is that your preference?

BA, all the way. It would ward off competitors, and attract the kind of ladies I like.

Neither, really. Not really my thing. I’m married, so nothing to be cute for, and I am just too old to be bad ass—though I did have my moments once upon a time…...

image is a facade, even those that claim they are bad-ass are really insecure and putting on an act to try to gain the approval of others. After awhile, you start to believe the act so it becomes you. That said, if I was into these types of facades, and my former self, I would maybe try to be a ba, though I would probably have gotten myself into alot of trouble. Nowadays I am beyond these types of images, I see them for their superficiality.

Why is this only for men? I’d want to be badass, it’s less work than being cute, and more fun.

Cute is for kids. BA.

Well, whether they admit it or not, chicks dig bad asses.

I saw a comedian do a bit that went something like Oh sure, they always say that they want a guy who’s cute and funny… (dramitic pause)... I’m a frickin’ comedian!!!….. why is it they always leave with the guy on the Harley after the show instead of me?!?!?

I am female. I adore nice and cute guys

@YoBob Think what you want.

I think my husband would not like the choices. He is very cute in my opinion, adorable is thrown around a lot by women I have worked with, he hates that description. He wants to be handsome. But, probably with the two choices he might say bad-ass, but not in the sense of not giving a damn about others or being ruthless, but in the sense of looking very masculine, and he already races cars and loves motorcycles, I guess that is kind of bad-ass? But, he isn’t dangerous, dangerous would not fit. I still think he is very very cute.

Dangerous is cool, and badass.

Haha…ya know,I don’t know why but I always end up being attracted to the BA type ,,,, I always regret it afterwards.
Anyway,I’d choose to be Dangerous, but not bad ass….

answerjill's avatar

I’ve never been into a BA’s.

No value for me in people finding me dangerous (aka fearing me). There’s nothing in it for me to make people afraid I might do them or myself harm. The thing I’d want in this respect is to make people feel safe and trust me. If they see me as competent that’s good – but bad ass? Not for me.

So I’ll go for cute. Interesting women, I find, ARE attracted to cute. Besides, I’m not really looking…

Dangerous is an attitude, not a literal way of behaving. It means you go your own way and do what you want to do and won’t let anyone stop you. It means you’re strong and bold and confident.

Cute… well God knows what that means. I just think that a lot of girls would go out with Justin Bieber, but they’d go home with Mel Gibson (or his contemporary equivalent).

I wonder how many women say they want cute, but fall for dangerous most of the time? How many think cute is sexy? How many women’s hearts are set racing by cute?

It’s probably biology. It seems like a lot of times, being called cute is the death knell for your social life.

@wundayatta Mel Gibson. Oh. My. God. Hope you two are happy.

Yes, I’m definitely going with cute.

CaptainHarley's avatar

It’s been proven again and again over my lifetime that I am definitely dangerous, but not very cute. I’d like to try cute for awhile! : D

MilkyWay's avatar

AAWW, @CaptainHarley I think your really cute capt’n : )

VS's avatar

I’m already cute so let’s go with dangerous for my answer. (I’m a girl…)

CaptainHarley's avatar

Wow! Someone thinks I’m cute! WOOT! : D

DominicX's avatar

Nice and cute all the way ^_^

But I suppose that’s not a surprise…

incendiary_dan's avatar

I am already both. Can’t say I’d particularly want to give either up.

stardust's avatar

Bad ass for sure.

CaptainHarley's avatar

@incendiary_dan

Hmmm. Well, you don’t do a THING for me, Dan! : D

Earthgirl's avatar

I want to be devastatingly cute! A Femme Fatale with morals.

Neizvestnaya's avatar

Nice and cute because it would help me survive and be cared for better than the need to be dangerous.

ETpro's avatar

I’ll go for drastically dangerous and you will say I am sooooo cute!

woodcutter's avatar

What does cute look like on a guy really? I just can’t imagine it so I won’t know if I see it. Does it mean that he looks sort of like a girl to be cute? I can imagine girly cute or puppy cute. What does badass look like? Facial scars, big ear hairs? Isn’t it mainly attitude anyway?

wundayatta's avatar

I’d prefer dangerous.

In the old days, I was Plokozhopsky, which is Russian for bad-ass. I chose that name because that’s what I wanted to be. I am happy to let you know that I no longer need that handle.

@wundayatta – A piece of advice I sometimes share with youngsters:

“Don’t screw with the old guys. You have no idea who they were as young guys!”

Two movie scenes come to mind. One in “Second Hand Lions” where Hogue teaches a car load of young punks a lesson in a bar and the other is Sean Connery in (can’t remember the movie title) where he absolutely kicks the ass of a cocky young kid using only his thumb.

Developing perspective is one of the wonderful gifts of maturity.

@Earthgirl

“Femme fatale” with “morals” does not compute. : )

“Moralistic femme fatale” is an oxymoron. I looked i up! LOL!

Earthgirl's avatar

CaptainHarley That’s just it! I love being a contradiction in terms, lol

CaptainHarley's avatar

LOL @Earthgirl

Like to keep ‘em off-balance, eh? : D

Blueroses's avatar

I’ll take “dangerous”. It’s less expensive to maintain than cute and also that way I can rip off the head of anyone who calls me “ugly”.
