What are some of the things you've learned on fluther?
You may have been here for years, and you may have only been here a day. When you think about what you’ve learned at fluther, what are the first three things that pop into mind?

Not to battle with ignorant trolls. It’s a waste of time.
I learned how to deal with girl issues that now seem rather pointless to me, heh.
I learned some interesting random facts.
And I’ve learned a lot about the kindness of strangers.
I’ve learned there are some pretty awesome people on fluther but also some very close minded indivduals that won’t even look at something other than science and evidence to everything in life. But that is okay those that are open minded and express themselves are very good people and I really enjoy talking with some of them. You guys are great and you help me pass some boring time during the days. Smile
Obesity is a very complex issue.
Gender identity is on a spectrum.
There are tons of bright, funny caring people in the world.
Oh – and pancakes are not just for eating anymore.
Not to participate in religious questions debates. Hell, don’t even read them. But I can’t help myself, I look anyway.
I’ve learned about a lot a great links.
I’ve learned that I really can live in a mansion. One day…maybe.
That I can’t have as much fun as I used to?
Many things.
Some people’s minds are made up and I’m just confusing them with the facts.
1. That Janets has no idea how famous she is.
2. That friends can come from all walks of life, from all countries and I can meet them here.
3. Pancakes, the other sexual toy.
1-You never know how a random conversational topic might lead to a real connection with another person.
2-The kindness of strangers is a powerful thing.
3-Laughter is the best medicine.
What I’ve learned from my time in Fluther:
1-I can form amazing, long-lasting friendships with people I’ve never met in person.
2-I can get a no-holds barred opinion/answer from a vast audience in a matter of 12hrs or less
3-How babby is formed/Pancakes aren’t just for breakfast or kitchens anymore/I’ll never look at the frizzer the same again
I’ve learned that I am frustrated because people are just being so lax in what is going on in the world and don’t seem to care. When members of family start to see the results then they will and then (and maybe far too late now) it will be too late to think about what matters.
How incredibly difficult it is to offer an opinion everyone agrees with. :-)
Why is it so funny when someone about something that they don’t agree with thinks things are to be made of joke of but the person that is experiencing the hard times doesn’t think it is so funny? What then?
That there are places on the internet where people can be nice to each other and in the main demonstrate consideration and intelligence. I can’t ever remember seeing “your mother is a (insert insult here)” once in the weeks I have been fluthering! It really has been a bit of a revelation.
I just looked through a couple pages of my questions, and realized I’ve learned tons of stuff.
@faye I can’t take credit for it. I went to high school with Cirbryn (an occasional flutherite and one of my oldest friends). He wrote “My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with the facts.” under his senior picture. I’ve been using it ever since.
@Rarebear
Oops. Was gonna call Rarebear on his plagiarism but he beat me to it! So just erased myself :>)
@crisw & @Rarebear With all due respect to @Cibbryn, who is in fact brilliant; I am about to turn 67, and I heard that quote back when I was a young kid in South Norfolk (Now Chesapeake), VA. I Googled it and couldn’t find a source. So I would guess it’s from that most prolific of satirists and bon mot authors, Anonymous.
1. I learned what a frizzer is… I think?
2. I’ve learned that a lot of people have questions about relationships, sicknesses, and homework.
3. And the most important thing I’ve learned is that the internet isn’t just full of trolls and spammers. There is a wonderful community here and we owe it all to Ben and Andrew!
@ETpro We all stand on the shoulders of giants. It’s just that @cirbryn stands on the shoulder of a giant anonymous.
I’ve learned when it’s time to leave a thread. Well, mostly learned.
Sort of like @Austinlad above, I’ve learned when to stop following threads. There’s been less stress in my fluther life, since I’ve made myself stop following threads if I feel the slightest twinge of pissiness. =0)
I’ve learned that the WHOLE WORLD is parked in my dining room!
@Rarebear~ In Mexico. I’m certainly not putting it in Kansas. That state is a blight upon this nation. I don’t even want my dogs living here there.
