Are Astaxanthin and forms of seaweed similar in health benefits?

Asked by Aster (20028points) March 22nd, 2011

I take 2 Astaxanthin caps a day but I am also interested in seaweed but I dont know where to find seaweed or in what forms it comes in. I think of Sushi but I don’t have access to sushi. If you eat seaweed why do you eat it and in what form?

I eat seaweed almost every day- primarily roasted laver. I get it at Korean groceries, where it is sold in snack packs like this. I love it because it is crispy and crunchy and salty- just like all the bad-for-me-snacks- but it has only 20–30 calories a package! It comes in all kinds of styles and flavors- olive oil, sesame, kimchee, etc. Mmmm. Really hits the spot when you are craving something like tortilla chips.

hey try the grocery stores…...they sell all kinds of seaweed…sometimes you can find the seaweeds by the fish counters…...the thick seaweeds are great cut up in 1” pieces and are better than meat….and the smaller seaweeds are great with veggies and toasted brown rice….......yum
