What are you made of? (What do you eat?)

The other day as I was (mindlessly) eating a banana, it occurred to me that I’ve eaten a lot of bananas. The thought occurred to me that I might have eaten enough bananas to account for all of my (remaining) weight.
I’d guess I’ve eaten 9,000 bananas in my life – about 50 years, one banana every other day. Average banana – 200 calories. That works out to 1,800,000 calories. I think 1,800 3,500 calories works out to be about a pound of human flesh. So if I had never eaten any of those bananas I’d weigh about 1,000 pounds less.
Hm. Well, so no, I’m not made of bananas. I need something I’ve eaten less of than bananas to balance my weight. But there must be some food I’ve just eaten my weight in so to speak. I’m still working on it.
What food do you think you’ve eaten enough of to just make up your current weight?

For the mathematically declined:
Years * servings per week * 52 * calories per serving / 1,800 3,500 = current weight
So for example if you have a serving (4 squares) of a Ghiradelli intense dark chocolate bar three times a week for 30 years…
30 * 3 * 52 * 220 / 1800 3500 = 572 294 pounds.

Yes, you are definitely a banana. Also, 3,500 calories equals a pound.
What you eat today is walking and talking tomorrow—Jack LaLanne
I eat what I want to walk and talk tomorrow. For my family, that is a diet of mostly organic matter. Tomorrow our organic beet, burdock root, ginger root, raspberry, pineapple, carrot, kale juice will be helping us get through the day.
Pizza. I have definitely eaten a few hundred pounds of pizza in my time.
How exciting is it that there is currently a pizza and wings in transit to my house OH!
I guess I’m a pizza pop. I eat quite a lot of those. I’m beer flavoured pizza pop!
…eeew.
Chinese food, pizza and tacos.
My most common breakfast for several decades has been a banana, handful of nuts and a yogurt. I sometimes have an egg or some oatmeal in place of the yogurt.
Mostly I’m bananas, nuts and cheese; like comedy.
If that was the way it worked, we would eat bananas to solve erectile dysfunction.
Salad and mixed nuts. Maybe salad and yogurt, nuts are pretty high cal. Either way, the 3 of them are major staples in my diet.
Pork & beef, I like my meat, in any shape or form, rashers, joints, sausages, mince, burgers, steaks….. I’ve most likely eaten two or three cows & at least eight whole pigs by now :-/
I eat about 4 apples a day. Gotta love hot dogs and popcorn, too. Yummers!

Potatoes….1,001 different ways.
I forgot about potatoes. I am probably a giant potato in there.
I hear that if you eat too much of one thing, you can turn into it
Sugar and spice and everything nice,
That’s what little girls are made of!
General Tso’s chicken, pizza, chicken wings, beer, and/or nachos.
Sugar and spice and everything nice.
@YARNLADY
oh comeon look at the previous posts first…
or don’t take other people’s jokes
@dxs What, we can’t both be?
@YARNLADY
well, at least give some credit for the original thinker/poster
You should try to be original, too. it’s more rewarding—i thought that my post about turning into what you eat very comical but also informal. I though of putting it up through myself and not others, which makes it all the more worth it in the first place, and makes me feel better inside. :)
@dxs Yes, of course. I am getting lazy.
@mrrich724 I forgot about nachos. I guess I’m crispy and spicy and covered in orange goo. No wonder I can’t get a date.
@filmfann Actually, ED is often due to clogged arteries, hardening of the arteries, high cholesterol….and other preventable health conditions
That banana equation- when you think about how much food you eat over a lifetime, it’s staggering.
Take coffee. I’ve been drinking probably two cups of coffee a day since I was fourteen, so for about ten years. I’m going to guesstimate that a mug of coffee is 12oz, the same as a small at Starbucks.
So 2×12x14×365x10= 1,430,800 liquid ounces of coffee consumed in my lifetime. I could definitely be made out of coffee.
Lots of spaghetti sauce. Some pasta and bread. A little beef, pork, chicken, and fish. Some mozerella and Vermont sharp cheddar. Chinese food every so often, usually a pork dish. Lentils, chick peas, black beens, pinto beans, kidney beans. Peppers, including some chili peppers, mushrooms, lettuce, carrots, olives. Eggs. Rice. Cous cous. Honey Crisp apples when in season. A few strawberries, bananas, and grapes. Plantains. Three times a year Jamoca Almond Fudge Ice cream. Some Coca-cola as a cheat, oh and I had a Dr. Brown’s cream soda today, a special treat. I eat a lot of stuff.
I’d say cheese. Cheese made up most of my diet when I was younger; I love it.
I eat the foods recommended on the NIH web-site. So I guess that I’m a 3 dimensional pyramid.
I weigh the same now (at age 60) as I weighed when I was in high school. So therefore your analysis and conclusion of food calories is totally flawed. I never restrict food Kilocalories, I BURN them. The more I eat, the more I exercise. When I eat less, then I exercise less. This is what I call being in tune with and in control of my body.
Chicken soft tacos from Del Taco<3 It’s an addiction.
100% prime cut beef. Flexes bulging biceps….....hey, look at the floor show over here. Gadunge!!
I eat more chicken any man ever seen. Also, a lot of hot dogs.
My blueprint relies on a sugar-phosphate backbone.
Yeah, I eat a lot of chicken too, come to think of it! :-/
chicken pasta bake… MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm naughty but nice. :-/
