What 90's typing game am I thinking of?
I vaguely remember playing a typing game in elementary school. The player avatar was a yellow (I think) Formula 1 car and you would have to type rapidly to escape a helicopter that tried to drop trash in your path.
Do any of my lovely jelly friends know what the name of this game was? I’m nostalgia-ing hard.

I’m pretty sure that was the old school version of Mavis Beacon. That’s the only typing game I played as a kid, and I’m pretty sure what you described was the set up. ...unless the set up was two cars racing. I can’t remember for sure.
Does this image look familiar? If so, then Mavis Beacon it is.
Now that I’m thinking about it more, I think that I’m wrong. I don’t remember any trash dropping in that game.
You just made me think of Number Munchers…but that was before your time.
@bobbinhood, there was a part similar to that in the game, but it must have been a newer version because the graphics were better. There was a top-down minigame where you controlled a little F1 car, though, unless it was in fact, part of a different game entirely.
@ladymia69, it may be from before my time, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t played it!
I thought it was more specific to the mid-80s, when schools actually began adding computer labs. I figured they just updated their games with the same frequency as they do nowadays. I remember when floppy disks were floppy!!
@ladymia69 My school had Number Munchers, in the early 90s.
God, @Nullo , are you my age? I thought you were either a 50-year-old with the brain of a 17-year-old, or like some lanky dude sitting at his computer in armor. Maybe I have associated your avatar with you too much.
@Nullo You’re probably younger than me, actually. What grade were you in in 1990?
@ladymia69 I’ll go with the armor. :D
Really, though, I’m only 23. I was 3 – 4 years old in 1990. It may be that we just had a crappy computer lab – I didn’t get to play Number Munchers until 199…2, I think. Maybe ‘93.
Where did you get the “50-year-old with the brain of a 17-year-old”? I think that I might have to be offended, but I’m not really sure. O_o
@ladymia69 Number Munchers kicked ass lol. When I was in high school we had that game, and I really loved it. I got pretty damn good at it, and when you die, you get to enter a name that will be displayed by your score. Well, being completely immature and retarded, I kept writing stuff like funny shooter names like ’‘CumOnMyTits’’ or ’‘TheBlowjob’’. I would have wrote ’‘ApplePuckerMotherFucker’’ had I known about that back then. XD
But anyways, when the teacher saw it, she got so pissed. I played it so much that ALL the scores were some stupid ass name lol. So she said I better do something about it, unless I want to pay for the fucking floppy this was on lol.
It was kinda hard having to beat all my high scores, but I managed man lol, and just wrote names of the Sailor Senshi from the Sailormoon TV show I was a fan of at the time, to replace the other stuff. I’m pretty sure that was the only time in school I enjoyed being in detention; playing games!l
@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard
Yeah that doesn’t answer your question though…and I have no idea. What kind of computer did you play that on, do you remember?
@Symbeline, I think it was an old Windows PC.
…on second thought, it may have been one of those older Apple computers… you know, the ones with the colored backs?
Damn man…maybe I’m doing it wrong but I can’t seem to find any repertoire online about older typing games. One of the search queries I typed in Google brought this question as my first result…XD I’ll keep looking though…old games are cool lol.
