How do I get this adhesive/glue/goo out of my hair?

I went in last night for a sleep study, where they proceeded to attach 30 or so wires to my head using some sort of (obviously not water soluble) adhesive to my hair/head. The tech told me to wash with the hottest water I can stand to sort of melt it out. I’ve tried that twice thus far with no results, it seems to just be getting stickier. I have a ton of thick hair and this glue is not coming out!!!! Someone please help!!!!
