Where are all these so-called paid bloggers?

Asked by quarkquarkquark (1695points) March 25th, 2011

And how did they get to where they are? The Huffington Post pays only its most prestigious writers, and sites like Slate or Salon are really just online news magazines—the writers there are indistinguishable in qualification and quality from the writers at a place like The Atlantic.

So where are all of these paid bloggers I keep hearing about, and how did they come to start getting paid?

The write blogs that flog particular products or services. They start out as people with product knowledge and writing ability.

My aunt gets paid for some of her blogging.
I don’t know much of the details but she doesn’t do anything commercial like @marinelife mentioned.

Some are established bloggers like Chris Brogan. He usually will tell you that he’s being paid or getting something in-kind for the mention.

It might help if you were to give a link or reference to which these so-called paid bloggers you are talking about. What paid bloggers?

The New York Times, and many other papers, have paid bloggers.

I like the tech one in particular. Here
