Where can I find a recipe for caramel for Flan?

I bought something from the store to make Flan, but I don’t know how to make the caramel part of it. Does anyone have a link or recipe? Or is it just plain old caramel?

This page from Cooks.com has a whole bunch of different recipes for caramel flan that you can peruse. They’re all very similar, but you might find one of them quicker or easier to make.
