Suggestions for re-covering this chair?

Asked by Jude (32204points) March 28th, 2011

I would like to purchase this chair, but, recover the cushions. I have a brown leather couch and a sage shag rug. The chair will be placed beside a wooden Victrola. I wouldn’t mind a pop of color with the chair. Any suggestions?

OR, if someone could find me this chair (for around the same price, and in the Detroit area), but, with color (not black), I would be a happy girl.

First, I have to say, dahlink, you have excellent taste. I adore modern Danish furniture and Eames. As for colors, I’m imagining shades of golden wheat to yellow. A pattern might be nice in those shades.

Depending on the fabric you choose it wouldn’t cost you that much to recover those cushions, even if you took them somewhere to have them done. If you know how to sew then you really could do it cheaply

Since you have solids in both the other two peices I would suggest a pattern for the this peice. If you have a zipper put in the back of each of the cushions you could make more than one set and change them out when like

@hawaii_jake Thanks! :) What I really wanted was one of these, but, the reserve was too high!

What is your accent color for the room? You could do the chair in a patterned fabric in that accent color.

What about keeping the chair, as is.

Chair’s gone. I am having a hell of a time finding a mid-century Danish chair that won’t cost me one of my kidneys.
