Why do I get emails claiming I signed up for notices on acne treatment?

It isn’t just Proactiv, but I get other emails from companies saying that since I signed up for information on their products they are complying. But I have never signed up for information on acne medications. How and why does this happen? My inbox is jammed with advertisements each morning from various companies claiming I asked for their information.

There may have been an ad on a site you were perusing, and if you have a touchpad on your computer you may have inadvertently clicked on it. That would open you up to anything of that nature

It could be a spam bot that randomly enters email addresses and sends that message to whatever address accepts it.
It might not matter whether you ever even saw such an ad in the course of your browsing.
The same reason I get e-mails for Viagra! And notices that my non-existent credit card account needs attention.
…and that my Paypal information need to be redone. But of course, the most common one is the Nigerian person addressing me as,, “Dearest in Christ” you have won the lottery. Send me
$350 and I will forward you your ten million dollar winnings.” I wonder if they want your credit card for the 350??

LMAO! I was wondering how far off-target email spam could get.”
They’re just spam. I for one don’t even open this sort of email, I delete them immediately.
