Well, I have always wanted to go to the Galápagos Islands to see all of those unique species. I hear that some of them are so tame that they go right up to you! It’s soo expensive to get there, but it must be totally worth it—it’s on my bucket list.
We’ve had the opportunity to have our dream vacation twice in the last 20 years. One year, the entire family stayed at a beach hotel, in three or four apartment-like rooms. We have the choice to do things together, or go to various attractions separately. It was a wonderful gift from our In Laws and costs roughly the same as an anniversary cruise would have.
Another time, the gift was a huge, 5 bedroom condo on the shore of Lake Tahoe, right next to the pool and spa. The layout was perfect, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths on the main floor, with a large livingroom, a full size dining room, and a pullman style kitchen with a breakfast nook. There were 2 bedrooms, 1 bath on the second floor, along with a large loft-type balcony, and one bedroom, 1 bath on the third floor.
We got an unexpected discount when the water had to be shut off due to a water main break in the street. It only lasted a few hours, and we received a 20% discount on the rental.
I had wanted to take a trip to Egypt and yacht along the Nile with stops to see temples, ruins and museums. It might still happen.
