Did you know that today is "No Housework Day"?

Asked by john65pennington (29273points) April 7th, 2011

Today, we are celebrating No House Work Day. A day of absolutely not doing anything to help clean your apartment or house. What does this mean? It means either turning over and going back to sleep or writing something on Fluther. I did not invent this day of celebration, but I will take full advantage of it. Question: what were your plans today for painting up and fixing up your house? What are you NOT going to do today?

I think I will still empty the dishwasher. Bu I won’t make my bed, I’m off to work.

Gosh, I always get the dates confused, so in order not to miss it I tend to treat most days as No Housework Day.

I shall put tons of paper through the shredder & fling the contents all over the house. Should be interesting to see the wife’s reaction…....shudders in dreaded anticipation.

Haha. Thats funny. I got up at 4:30 this morning and made my boyfriend breakfast and now I’ve just finished doing a ton of cleaning! But had it gone another day I would have up and left. IT was getting gross in here.

That is just silly talk! I am going to not celebrate this day by cleaning my gutters after work and unpacking more boxes…so there!

I have to do housework today, because people are coming in tomorrow.

Darn it, I wish I’d seen this question before making beds, cleaning toilets, and taking out the trash. Then again, I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from doing those things because we have guys here installing new windows. And you know, the house has to be clean before the workers come in to track mud and sawdust through every room. :(

Ooooh, I have to call my hubby and inform him of this right away!

Seelix's avatar

Oh no! I’m waiting for clothes to come out of the dryer right now. Okay, I’ll celebrate No Housework day tomorrow.

Every day for me is No Housework Day.

No housework day? No freakin’ problem lol.

flutherother's avatar

I must have somehow known it subconsciously.

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

Course, I don’t have running water today, so I guess I couldn’t do much housework if I wanted to.

YARNLADY's avatar

Oh, man, that’s not fair. I do the housework before I go on the computer. I missed it

SpatzieLover's avatar

@YARNLADY me too :(

Well, then there must be 364 days of Un-housework ahead for me.

Dr_Dredd's avatar

Yeah, but it will be really gross if I don’t clean up after the dog.

JilltheTooth's avatar

@Dr_Dredd : That’s not housework, that’s dogwork.

SpatzieLover's avatar

@Dr_Dredd I hear ya. I have to do dog, cat, tortoise, budgie & guinea pig work…but I consider them family, not housework. parenting of a different species if you will

MissAusten's avatar

I’m going to have to celebrate tomorrow. I couldn’t not do housework, with a sick kid and window installers. After the windows were in and the guys left, I had to move furniture, rehang curtains, sweep, and vacuum.

But, I didn’t tell my husband about No Housework Day when he offered to clean up from dinner all by himself. ;)
