It’s that time of year again, I’m starting to get invites through the post by the dozen, from car insurance companies trying to entice me with their “LOWEST OFFER EVER”……… well I’ve done my homework & I’ve found the best deal for me..
Fully comprehensive cover.
Travel accident plan
Free legal assistance.
Free breakdown assistance, anywhere in the EU.
Three months personal accident cover to the tune of £120,000 Tax-free.
Cost £ 28.17 a month…… over twelve months
:-/
That’s about $45.95 in USD
I’m curious how this might compare to prices over the pond?? Or wherever you are?
What do you pay? And for what? Do you think you get value for money or are you constantly having to pay more year on year?
This quote for my car beat last years plan by £97.32 UK / $158.75 USD
Incidentally the car I’m insuring is an 02 VW Passat estate (station wagon in US speak)
I know this question has been asked before, some time ago but things might have changed?? :-/

Two vehicles, two drivers, suburbs, no accidents in more than 5 years, glass replacement, collision and $400,000 bodily injury or property damage .
Just under $100 per month.
My last car was a 2000 Pontiac Grandam, 4 doors, 4 cylinders, brown/purple…. It was bare bones minimum coverage and the bill was like $25 a month.
My current car is a 2011 Mazda 3, 4 doors, 4 cylinders, black…. It has full coverage and its $83 a month.
I’m a 25 year old male with no moving violations in 6 years.
Too much, but I figured, if they’re going to charge me an arm and a leg because I’m a young male, I’m going to drive like one anyway. It’s more fun that way.
Three drivers (54M,44F,18M), three vehicles (one full coverage, two state legal liability), rental car coverage, one ticket and one not at fault accident in the last 5 years-$143.34 a month.
$70/month for one 8-year old Subaru. In the US it varies A LOT by location. Every state has different laws and every zip code has different demographics. One year I changed apartments, moving 200 yards down the street. Thanks to my new zip code, my auto insurance dropped from $90 to $70/month.
$133 a month, full coverage on a Suburban. Including an increase because my speed demon hubby got 2 tickets.
About $500/yr for the WA state minimum coverage on an ‘85 Corolla. A married guy in their late-30s with no tickets or accidents in the last decade and a car that isn’t very valuable pays a bit less than many people though. As for breakdown and legal assistance, I get that elsewhere as a fringe benefit; I don’t pay for that.
