I just saw an ad for Crysis 2, and heard the opening piano for “New York, New York”, before it broke into an upbeat rap song overtop of it. Being a fan of Martin Scorcese, Frank Sinatra, Robert De Niro and Liza Minnelli, it was scarring. Realizing in that moment (once again), the effect that a video could have on a song made me ponder.
