What are your favorite kind of pancakes?
So, my favorite food group is pancakes. I eat pancakes at least 4 times a week. I am an addict! But I want to know what you’re favorite kind of pancakes are. What kind of interesting but delicious pancake recipes are there? I really need some new ways to cook them!

Buckwheat with blueberries. With fried eggs and bacon. And coffee!
This is from an earlier post, but they are my favorite…
…“apple pancakes.” Here’s the recipe. Slice about one to two apples in relatively thin small segments and add to normal pancake batter….Instead of syrup, sprinkle lightly with sugar…mmm.
I’m afraid I’m a purist. I just like regular buttermilk pancakes with real maple syrup and LOTS of butter. I had some once with cranberries and bits of orange in them and they were really delicious too.
Put a little cinnamon in to add some flavor, but the best thing to do is to get the best syrup – something along the lines of this: http://www.sbamerica.com/Carys/Carys_History.htm
It’s a bit pricy, but worth it for the ultimate pancake. If you can find pure maple syrup infused with vanilla bean get it! Tastes as if you were in Canada yourself with the maple trees.
I am a waffle eater, using Aunt Jemima Lite Syrup, but I do love blueberry pancakes.
I only like Bisquick’s pancake mix recipe that’s right on the box. Add butter and Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup, and they’re the best pancakes on the planet.
Y’all are making me hungry…think I’ll fix pancakes for breakfast tomorrow…
My sister and I like taking a basic batter mix, tossing in some sweetened shredded coconut and some fresh blueberries. A little bit of butter and pure maple syrup on top, and you’re good to go! Seriously my favorite homemade type of pancake.
Pecan or walnut pancakes.
@yankeetooter I really liked it when I was younger, but I’ll admit it’s been a while since I’ve made a batch. I might make them tomorrow and report back to see if my tastebuds remain the same.
Any pancakes from IHOP is great since I don’t think I’ll ever end up making one. Is that bad?
Crepes.
I cannot deal with the thicker sort and prefer waffles.
No, @mazingerz88 -no cleaning up either! (always a good thing)
@aprilsimnel We’re not creeps! I resemble, er resent, that remark. (jk, lol!)
My dad’s plain and simple pancakes with a bit of sugar and lemon… he used to make them on Shrove Tuesday for us. Nothing fancy….
Same as @diavolobella I’m afraid I’m a purist. I just like regular buttermilk pancakes with real maple syrup and LOTS of butter. Plus cream cheese, bacon and/or sausage & scrambled eggs. Delish!
I like plain regular buttermilk pancakes with peanut butter and a little syrup on top.
I guess I’m going to be making pancakes for dinner. Yum
Surely someone likes delicious pancakes served upon the head of an earnest bunneh?
Nope…everytime he wiggles his nose, the syrup goes everywhere…
Im not sure. I love the traditional kind of pancakes. I don’t like them with blueberries. I like them with butter, syrup, and with a couple of sausages.
PANCAKES with macadamia nuts and bananas.
Sorry I got carried away.
I love to make spice panackes. I include vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Delightful.
@etignotasanimum Blueberry and coconut sounds amazing. I think I’m going to have to try that. Maybe I’ll even mix a little bit of lemon in per @Mz_Lizzy‘s suggestion.
Chocolate chip with cardamom and Aunt Jemima.
The yummy ones ; P
Don’t mean to annoy people who don’t like the word ”yummy”
Blueberry pancakes with the blueberry sauce on top as well as the blueberrys in the pancakes an whip creme on top. TONS of calories but oh so good.
Skillet pancakes over an open fire while camping with fresh picked wild strawberries and blueberries and a Point beer.
Crepes!! Filled with cottage cheese and fresh fruit. Filled with ham and swiss cheese. Filled with parmesan cheese and black pepper and served in chicken broth. Filled with nutella. Filled with bananas, peanut butter and chocolate chips. Can be hot or cold. Love ‘em.
I love to make Basic Buttermilk pancakes and then make a sauce similar to a Bananas Foster to put over them. (Dark Meyers Rum, Brown Sugar, sliced Bananas, and butter)
I also love a supremely made Crepe that has slightly sweetened mixture of sour cream and small curd cottage cheese and frozen strawberries with its accompanying syrup.
One more. Slightly drizzled Nuttela, finaley crushed toasted hazlenuts, and bananas, over milk chocolate chip pancakes.
There is this wonderful mom and pop pancake shop in my town that serves the most amazing sweet potato pancakes! Here is a recipe that sounds awesome Sweet Potato Pancakes
