Have you hugged a librarian today?

Asked by SuperMouse (30853points) April 12th, 2011

Today is National Library Workers Day! Have you taken a minute to thank your reference librarian, the workers at the circulation desk and even the building services employees who shelve the books and make sure they are in the right spot? We have at least one pretty fabulous library jelly among our own. Librarians represent and library users take a moment to say thanks!

Oh, I didn’t know…we went to the library storytime for the boys today (we go every day), now I feel bad! But we do always say thank you!

No, but I almost did yesterday. I love my little library (with its original L. C. Tiffany stained glass window) and am there two or three times a week. I read the NYT, local paper, The New Yorker, Harper’s, Consumer’s Report and gossip with friends, acquaintances and strangers.

It is also one of two local institutions that I donate money to regularly. The other is for the refurbishing of our sweet local movie theater.

I’ll run right out and find one to hug! If I get arrested, it’s on your head, @SuperMouse!

If I weren’t on campus until my local library closed, I would pay the librarians there a visit. They have known me since I was in primary school and watched me check out hundreds of books.

Hugs to those librarians on Fluther! :)
