I live where I live because my company is here. It is OK great parks and nature but not the ocean or mountains where I will retire in 15 years….sigh.

I live in Denver, and the weather is nice a good chunk of the year, usually sunny, and the Rockies are the best playground.

Aside from my family and friends,I LOVE the water!
The woods are nice too.:)

I love the fact that I can walk to the beach anytime I want, I can walk to the store, and I have the most beautiful view EVER from my house.

We also have TONS of diversity. It’s kind of comforting to have fellow Russians around my city.

The food. Not only is there a wide variety of food from different ethnicities, but there’s a lot of them and most of them are pretty damn good. I love the halal food stands.

I love having the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter seasons. I love the weather. I love the people (Minnesota Nice) I love the animals. I love not having tax on clothing items.

Most of all I love the lakes

best public transportation in the US, I daily enjoy that I do NOT have to drive to and from work.

I’m smarter than everyone at the Jersey Shore during the Summer time lol. Just kidding, but I do like New Jersey because of its proximity to everything like NYC, Philly, AC etc.

Memphis, Tennessee, USA Reasonably priced housing; cheap utilities, no state income tax (although I’m not so sure that the last one is a good thing.) And fellow Jelly JLeslie lives here.
Lancashire, England Excellent public transportation (no car needed); ordering groceries online and having them delivered; the convenience store a couple of doors down, the pub across the street and the farm with sheep across the other road; the history; no guns; national health care. Oh, and my fiancé and our house.

Lake Huron, the parks, seasons and the “best fries in the world”!

Manchester: a busy (but not too big) city with great public transport, plenty to do, it’s cheap, and best of all, my friends are here.

It’s paradise. If you eat a piece of fruit and throw the seeds in the yard, they grow. In the winter, the days are moderate, and in the summer, the days are, well, moderate. It rains a great deal, but that keeps everything green. There is a volcano adding excitement. The night skies are unparalleled. The food is delicious and eclectic. And the air is scented with the sweet smell of many different flowers.

@RareDenver that pic is breathtaking.

The view from my house is beautiful. We have a lot of space for my 5 dogs to run around. Birds & crickets chirping. I live in the tropics and we only have a rainy season and a dry season. Temperature is always great, even when it rains.

It’s surrounded by the ocean! And I Lurve the ocean!

Awesome strip joints, hot gals some of which work the corners, drive-by’s almost nightly (okay not that one so much), decent Spring Summer and Fall weather, Close to the beach and to the Mountains, Fresh air from the ocean sweeps in almost daily, some great places to hang out during the night, Nightly parties nearby no matter where you live, and of course my 1966 Mustang is here currently and I get to rip up the asphalt.

@noelleptc You don’t often see “big ass” turkey chillin by the side of the road…was it taking a “nap”??

I may sound absolutely mad for saying this, and fellow Britons surely will think that I am, but I’m still going to say it.
I love the rainy weather in Britain. I love it’s windy days and the fact that it’s soo green.
I miss it’s cold crisp air whenever I go abroad. There’s something that draws me to this place.
Yeah, even it’s wet tarmac roads. : )
And the hunks, can’t forget them ; D

Lake Michigan. The parks. Walkable neighborhoods. Great public transportation. Access to millions of nearby jobs, customers, business opportunities. Cheap airfare.History and architecture. Museums, aquarium, planetarium. The trees and birds. Lots of dogs. The public libraries. Every kind of food imaginable. Wonderful fruit & vegetable stores.

That’s just a sample.

They have a “Whirligig Festival” with tens of thousand visitors. The local artisan makes Whirligigs up forty feet high, all out of recycled material. He has been making them for over fifty years.
Soon we are going to have the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park and it has National Park Service backing.

The fresh air, the beach and seafood, the flat (and perfect) roads, and my ability to concealed carry (whether I decide to or not that day, it’s nice to know the local government isn’t violating my constitutional rights)

I really don’t love it here. The only thing I like is that I live in a big enough city to have shopping and my daughters’ activities very close, without actually living in a “CITY”. Other than that, I’d rather live somewhere completely different.

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but if I had my druthers, I’d live in Ireland.

Lake on one side of the street, horses on the other. One of the richest areas in the country, so there are beautiful houses and property around. Proximity to NYC. In the other direction, proximity to no tax on clothing shopping, a great mall (even though I don’t go too often, but it’s good that if I need it, it’s close). Proximity to New England – a stone’s throw.

Boston, MA

weather: I love the four seasons (Summer the least)
diversity: There are people of all walks of life in and around Boston – and from all around the world.
culture: Between all the museums, parks, shops, clubs, galleries, universities & colleges and the music scene – you’re never at a loss for things to do and new things to learn.
food: With the exception of Mexican (which is mediocre), you can find delicious interpretations of food from many different cultures – both authentic and “Americanized”.

There’s more, but those are my top reasons.

I love my area, minutes out of a state park, beautiful river, peaceful, safe, nature galore.
The drawbacks are an hour commute to the city, allergies and power outtages. lol

Concord CA

Food: Do you want to eat Indian food? Ethiopian? Let’s compromise, and hit the Peruvian place.

Weather: When you’re hot you’re hot, when you’re not you’re not.

Cuture: California Casual. San Francisco Values. Now, sweetheart, it’s not polite to stare at the Nun wearing fish net stockings.

Diversity: It takes all kinds.

Just moved to a farm in western Illinois. The population of our entire county, which is 590 square miles, is only 33,000. I love how quiet it is. We can be as loud as we want, and we don’t have snotty little brats knocking on the door all day to play with our daughter. (I love play dates for her instead) We can see for miles in each direction. This makes for some incredible viewing of storms that pass through the area.

I recently slept on the sofa sleeper in the living room with my daughter because she was ill. I woke up in the middle of the night and realized I forgot to close the blinds (we have large picture windows in the room). I decided to not close them because it was a clear night and I could see so many stars. It was beautiful! I felt like I was camping in the comfort of my own living room.

We have a campground with a swimming lake and woods for hiking and biking just a mile and a half down the road. We’re also within 15–20 miles of two state parks with lakes for boating, and 40 minutes from the Mississippi River.

I think I’m in love with where I live.

I love living in Wyoming. (It is a state in the U.S. for those of you who don’t know…) It’s quiet, clean, wide open, and there is some breath taking views. The only downside is the wind.

Shooting guns whenever I want too. Deer jerky. Cat fishing. Skake and bake crystal meth. Whisky chugging sluts, being a big fish in a small pond.

@mattbrowne at 10:30pm the zombies come out?

mattbrowne's avatar

@filmfann – yeah, sort of, especially horny zombie cats looking for a lover, can drive you crazy sometimes, some neighbors don’t neuter their cats – to me their “love songs” sound like “zombie songs”

I love Australia because I love the out doors and the bush but when in the city I love the shopping!
As I am Aboriginal it is my home land. (:
