Problems going "back" on Firefox?

Have you tried hitting the backspace button?

The new tab has no history, it’s new. It has no “back”. That is by design.

Sorry, I didn’t explain this right.

When I open something in the new tab, I know that it doesn’t have any history to ‘back’ to.

I’m only talking about opening something in a new tab, then clicking a link that opens within that same tab, then trying to click the ‘back’ button. The button is greyed and isn’t clickable.

“I go to google images and open one of the pics in a new tab. I click ‘full size image’ to see what it looks like bigger. But then I can’t press ‘back’...”

I did that, then I single-left clicked on the “full size image” link, and I got an enabled back arrow on the “full size image” page under the second tab.

I have Firefox 4.0.

Here are my settings for the Tabs option.

Yeah, my settings are correct, it just doesn’t work for me a lot of the time…
