How many newtons are in a ton?
I found this game called simple physics and one of the tasks it gives you are build a crane arm that can lift 200 tons 25 ft in the air and hold for 10 seconds. So in order to build it I need to now how many newtons are in 200 tons.

Gravity causes an attractive force of 9.81 Newtons per kilogram, for masses close to the surface of Earth.
It depends on how much force is exerted on the object.
Sounds like a tricked up Physics homework problem.
I’m glad the automatic calculator is shut-off with all the postings.
@Pshizzle it isn’t if don’t believe me play that level on the game
‘Newtons’ aren’t in the tons. So, what you are actually asking is how many Newtons are acting upon 200 tonns. This is one of those questions that the internet is very good at answering. Learn where to look and do some reading if you really want to learn science. I’m worried that my fellow posters are right and that this is homework.
This is one of the most useful sites you will ever find : Digital Dutch .
It has conversions for everything.

In case you’ve never used WolframAlpha, this will be the first of your many queries.
Both tons and Newtons are units of weight/force. A car can weigh x tons or x Newtons, and likewise you can push a block with a force measured in tons or Newtons. Thus, they can be converted between each other.
Fig Newtons? I do not have a clue.
In the field of science and engineering, the units of newton and ton are interchangeable. 1 kg force is roughly equals to 9.81 newtons. 1 ton is equals to 1,000kg. So you get 9,810 newtons in a ton.
f=ma , m=1000kg a=9.8
f=1000*9.8
f=9800 Newton
