How can I blow off steam tonight? (It's been another rotten day)
At the end of the day, we had several students going off, then a girl in my classroom decided to punch a hole in the window and refused to have her hand looked at for 15 minutes. Then, just as we got the kids on the last bus to go home, another kid started acting up and it took 20 minutes to get him off the bus. Now, I’m swamped with paperwork for the rest of the afternoon, when I really just need to breathe…Not to mention my car is acting up and I don’t feel like taking it in to have it looked at after the day I’ve had…
So…serious answers or something to cheer me up…I don’t care which, but give me a way to forget my day…

You should go to the local bookstore (preferably a large/busy one) and walk up and down the aisles asking random folks (who look like they can take a joke): “Excuse me, I’m sorry to bother you, but do you know where the erotic fiction might be?”
So you’ve got a lot of energy and adrenaline right now.
Zumba?
After you have done the paperwork and can walk away without unfinished business nagging at you, go directly to the gym and do a half hour of cardio followed by a half hour of moderate weight training to burn off the days stress.
Now, on the way back to your place stop off at the liquor store and pick up an excellent quality adult libation of your choice (might I suggest a good single malt scotch). This is not to get drunk with in a misguided attempt to forget your worries. It is to give yourself an enjoyable treat that also tends to relax most folks when used in moderation. Or, if you don’t do alcohol, pick up a nice herbal tea.
Now, when you get home have a quick fulfilling (but not to heavy) dinner, prepare the libation of your choice, put on some nice music, sit in the comfy chair, and crack open a good book.
Sounds great @aprilsimnel and @YoBob , but I prefer a quiet hike in the woods, in the silence and peacefulness…after that I might just go with the rest of @YoBob‘s plan (and I already have said alcohol at home, lol!) Thanks, everyone…
If you do decide to have a few drinks, do a little drunk Fluthering so we can laugh at with you. ;)
Lol! @jonsblond…How do you know I am not drunk now, and still perfectly lucid? (hic!)
Masturbate, it’s the best release there is! :-/
Best crack open the bottle then ;-) Lol…. I think I’ll join ya….....
I would try to do most of the paperwork, take a nice hot bath or a long hot shower, and then sit back with my wine and tune out the world. But drunk Fluthering is so much fun. I call it tipsy Fluthering.
@yankeetooter, keep thinking tomorrow will be a better day! Feel better:-)
Thanks @AmWiser ! It’s one day closer to my three day weekend, so it will be…Hmm…long hot bath…ahhh!
Don’t know if it’s been suggested….but going for a jog…take a nap… turn up the music and scream really loudly…beat the crap out of some inanimate objects.
Watch this hilarious scene from The Nanny where Niles (the very proper British Butler) takes an opportunity of being alone in the mansion to get his ya yas out. Until CC (the snooty woman with whom Niles is secretly in love with) comes in the door and witnesses Niles’s Risky Business-style dance. I actually spit milk when I saw this!
Even if you’ve never heard of these people or watched this show, this scene is extremely funny. The Nanny has saved my life. I’ve been going through a lot of crappy situations lately and this show always cheers me up and makes me LOL.
Or you might enjoy this funny scene from Young Frankenstein or This One
Or if you like Mel Brooks, you might enjoy this clip from the movie High Anxiety (if you haven’t seen it, rent it, but this clip will do for now). Mel Brooks takes a job a a psychiatrist at a mental hospital, even though he suffers from a serious case of fear of heights. Cloris Leachman as a mustachioed Nurse Ratchett and her simpering sidekick (lover, aaach!) Harvey Korman is awesomely funny. There’s also a running gag about the name of Brook’s mentor Dr. Liloldman.
Again, rent the whole movie called It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, but until then, enjoy this hilarious clip of Dick Shawn dancing here
And last, but not least, the funniest moment in Carol Burnett’s history with Tim Conway relating a story about Siamese Elephants guest starring Dick Van Dyke. The whole cast had a very difficult time trying not to crack up.
